Santa rides a bike

Santa by the Fireplace

Helen here today.
I could colour Santas all year long so now I´m in heaven. I love the ones that are a bit quirky and not perfect. I found this one, Naught or Nice stamp set from Polka Doodles and I wanted to place him by the fireplace as I laid my eyes on him. Hope you´ll enjoy the video.

Happy Haunting

It´s just a few days til Halloween and this ghost has been lying among my stamps, wanted to be coloured. (it´s actually me who once drew the stamp)

I wanted him to appear in a dusty attic. I added the candelabrum and a spiderweb.
And a BIG, SCARY spider. As you can see, there is a shadow from the candelabrum and the spider,
but not from the ghost. That´s because I think ghosts doesn´t have shadows,

Harvest Rabbits

Finally!
I have wanted to make my own videos when colouring for a long time.
As I lose myself into the colouring I often forget to take photos, and now that's not a problem anymore.

This is my second video so please, have patience with me. When I get the hang of it, I will maybe put in the colours in the video, but for now I list my colours in the end of this post.

Sneaky Taste

Hope you have had a great summer. We can now just relax and enjoy some colouring without feeling guilty for not spending the time outside in the sun.

I spent some time colouring this little guy, Sneaky taste by Nellie Snellen. I really don´t have any trouble with older stamps. I don´t need the latest released. If the image is cute and nicely drawn it really doesn´t matter. I colour images that talks to me, touch my heart.

I started by stamping my image on to some Perfect Colouring Paper and used Memento Ink pad.
It´s a clear stamp and it´s not the best quality, it´s little softer and if you press to hard it might end up as it did for me with some thicker lines as in his face but I thought that when I had coloured the whole image it wouldn´t show as much as in the beginning.

My first layer for the skin: E000

The shadows for the skin: BV20

Ontop of the shadow I added a new layer: E11
And for the cheeks, belly botton, knees and elbows I used: R02

To blend everything I went in with: E50 and R00

The cake: E41 - E43 - E44 - E42

The cherry: R24 - R59
Icing: B00 - B000

The cake dish: Y21 - YR21 - YR24 - Y26 - T3

Linen: BG10 - BG11 - BG23
Filling: R81 - R85

Knickers: BG70 - BG72 - BG75
I feel that theese shades are fare from each other so I use tip to tip method when I colour with them.

Flower: R00 - R81 - R85 

Hair: E40 - E42 - E43 - E44

And the most important, the shadows to groud the object: 
W00 - W1 - W3 - W5

Look at the picture abowe and you´ll see how the objects just floats on the paper,

before you put in the shadows your eye doesn´t have anything that tell you anything about how high abowe the gound the object is.

You don´t need to have a perfect shaped shadow, just the illusion will take you far!

Some highlights added with a Gelly Roll White Dark pen.

Cupcakes

A while ago I stumbled over some stamps on Facebook.
It was Whiff of Joy´s Henry Celebrating Mouse Stamp and now I´ve made some cards with the image.

As always, I stamped the image on Perfect Colouring Paper using Memento Ink Pad.

I started with the cheeks and ears, because I wanted to fade the pink and the gray with each other.

Started with the lightest shade for the tummy.

I wanted some shadow from the cupcake on his tummy and
shadow on the lower tummy makes the roundness.

I wanted the light to hit his knees, and darker areas between the legs, under the knees,
under his upper leg/arm, under the jaw and on the underside of the tail.

Started to colour the cupcake by a first layer with the lightest shade.

Wanted the light to hit the front of the cupcake and some shadows from the icing on the cupcake.

Started with the darker shades first for the flame.

Working me trough the flame.

I wanted high contrast in the icing so it feels like the flame light up the icing.
And I added some yellow shades for the highlight areas.

A shadow beneath him will ground him.

Three Colour Combinations for Green

As I had told you before I love to find and collect some older stamps.
This little guy is from a Swedish store and he was called "Sly dog" and came in many different situations.

As a friend of mine asked for a card for someone who graduated I thought of this fellow.
The receiver likes green so I picked some paper and started to colour some sly dogs.





As always I used Perfect Colouring Paper and stamped my images with a Memento Ink Pad.
