Sunny Summer Days Page

Sunny Summer? I realize that's only in my head right now in late February, but a girl can't help but to dream of the coming days.... but first.

I wanted to write a little about everything that's happening in our world. I think everyone has probably been told in person, so I feel better about writing it here on my blog. Chase has taken a new position at Rolling Hills Community Church. It's still here in middle Tennessee, but as Chase and I both grew up going to Gladeville, it's a huge change. This month has been very emotional, we love the Glade, but we are excited about what God has in the future. In the midst of the change we have put our house on the market. I know many of you have been reading since we first moved in, and you know all about the many, many, many projects we did in this house. I so wish I could give this craft room to someone that would really love it as much as I have.

So there's my excuse for my blog hiatus. Is it good enough? Chase and I would appreciate your prayers as we embark on a new chapter in our lives, and to sell our house.

Alright, so back to those summer days. Chase took this picture of Maddie and I after we walked to PetSmart one day. It's not a long walk, but it was hot. Maddie just laid down after we started back home. We ended up having to carry her home. I'm telling you sometimes it's really nice to have a 5lbs. dog.

I've been hoarding that sheet of Basic Grey Doodlebug paper forever! I finally just had to use it.

With this blog break, I did want you to know that there will still be a Practicing Creativity release next week! It's a great one that Karen designed!

For the Love of Grids

We're back today with some more cards using For the Love of Grids! Today, I gave each designer the challenge of using For the Love of Grids with one of Practicing Creativity's other stamp sets (not that hard since For the Love of Grids can truly go with anything).

I decided I would use Barefoot Summer along with For the Love of Grids. I also decided to make a scrapbook page rather than a card. It's really not hard at all to create your own 12x12 patterned paper with these stamps.

I used all three background sets. I also used our Turquoise Glimmer Mist to give it even more texture. It's hard to see in the pictures though.

Check out what the design team did:

Dana got the challenge of using Look Up! Additions with For the Love of Grids. Isn't the result just stunning? Dana used all three grids and the sentiment and large balloon from Look Up! Additions.

 Karen
Karen  used The Whole Cycle and Chatterbox along with For the Love of Grids. Notice how she accented the dots? So cute!

Valerie used a really creative use of the grid. Once she raised the flower out of the background, she colored in select squares to create a checkered effect. Valerie also used Nature's Wonder.

Tonight's the big night. For the Love of Grids will release at midnight eastern tonight!

But before that I'd like to give away another set! I'd love to hear which Practicing Creativity stamp set you'd most like to use with For the Love of Grids!

Glitz Layout

I've had these two pictures sitting on my desk for a year now, and when I saw this patterned paper I just had to use it. I really love this Scarlett Paper "Polka." Did I mention that I love it?

Glitz Design "Scarlett" Papers: Polka
Glitz Design "Love Nest" Papers: Stripe, Floral
Glitz Design "Hoopla" Journaling cardstock stickers
Glitz Design "Love Nest" Peek-A-Boo
Glitz Design "Hoopla" Titles cardstock stickers
Glitz Design Teeny Alpha Green Apple Block
This page combines three different lines, but I really love how well they play together!

And today is my sweet hubby's birthday! Happy Birthday Chase!

Scrapbooking with Misspelled Words

Yep, that's right. You are about to see a scrapbook page with an obvious misspelling. My problem was that I was starting in the middle and working backwards. I was really never good at that portion of cranium. Apparently my cranium just doesn't do backwards, and I'm okay with that. I did fix it, but it was after my photo. You all will forgive my mistake though, right?

So I've been in the scrapping mood lately, so since it hit I went for it. I just did a really simple layout about our trip to sPrinkles in Chicago.

Actually that night our entire dinner consisted of 4 Sprinkles cupcakes and popcorn from Garrets. I have to admit it was an AMAZING dinner.

Random question... anyone listen to classical music while they create? I did tonight, and for some reason I'm feeling rather creative (and productive). Maybe it's just a coincidence.

December Daily 18, 19, 20, 21

Before I get to the December Daily, I have to say when there is snow or even a hint of the white stuff people go CRAZY here (granted the state of Tennessee only owns one snow plow ... I'm only guessing I've never actually seen that one snow plow)! Peaple go crazy that they might somehow be shut in for weeks, that we might not have to go to work, that they will run out of milk, etc etc. For the last two days my super good friend Mary Anna has been giving us the 101 on the arctic mass headed to Nashville. I told her all day yesterday that there was no way they were going to close our work. However, to Mary Anna's glee we finally get to leave a little early from work, and ... well you have to go over to her blog to read the joke we played on her. So funny. Well if you know Mary Anna and can imagine how worked up she can get... then so funny!

Seriously the weather is all we can talk about in Tennessee and to prove it, here's another little story from Mary Anna's blog:

Courtney and I were dining at our favorite Mexican joint today for lunch, and yakked of the cold weather that's blanketed our fine state. With a pitiful look in her eyes, Courtney says to me, "Do you know who I feel really sorry for when it gets so cold out?" Sympathetically, I nodded. I knew exactly who she was going to say. As I opened my mouth and stated "the homeless," Courtney simultaneously said, "my dog." We both sat there a minute and burst out laughing. Sweet Courtney. I love her, and her little dog too.

Here are some of my final days of my December Daily!

Ah, so love that project! To be honest I got a little crazy trying to finish it up! I forgot how messy scrapbooking can get! I had stuff EVERYWHERE!

Tonight is the last night to get your EBTKS card done! I really had fun with this challenge, so come play along with us!

Happy Birthday Chase and December Daily 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16.

Happy Birthday Chase. You are my best friend. I can't wait to see what your 27th year holds.

Also, have I mentioned that Chase is very involved with things happening at Practicing Creativity Designs? Well he is. As a matter of fact he has several things I think you will all love up his sleeve. Isn't he so talented? See that first year of college as a fine arts major are totally paying off!

And I'm still working on December Daily. I am almost done. To be honest I'm kind of wearing of the project. I think it's mainly due to the 600 other things I need to work on, but I can't/won't let myself until I finish this. Maybe I'll finish today.

Day 12: The journaling is on the back of the 12 tag.

Day 13: Chase's work party.

Day 14: A party at a friend's house.

Day 15, 16 and 17: More parties!
Well we are off to dinner and a movie for Chase's birthday!
