New Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge - Father's Day

We've got a new challenge today on the Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge Blog and this week our theme is 'Father's Day'.  You can find all the details about the challenge here on the challenge blog.

This is my card for my Dad for Sunday - he always wears a tie whatever the weather and whatever he's doing so I decided this would be perfect for him!  I've used papers and a sentiment topper from Craftwork Cards and added a stamp 'happy father's day' from an old Elzybells set.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

New Cardz 4 Guyz Challenge - Happy Birthday!

We're celebrating at Cardz 4 Guyz this week because it's our first birthday!!  So of course our theme for today's new challenge had to be 'happy birthday'.  You can find all the details plus the cards from the rest of the Design Team here on the challenge blog.

For my card I've used papers and a die cut from the Craftwork Cards 'Suits You Sir' pad which you can find here on their website.  The pad was a present from my very good friend Sylvia and it's a great mixture of patterned papers and die cuts.  I've used three of the papers on my card plus a die cut sentiment and layered it all with black paper.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Through the Crafty Room Door - 'anything goes'
Through the Purples Haze - 'anything new to you' (the kit I've used)
Crafty Boots Challenge - 'out with the old, in with the new'
Sisters of Craft Challenge - 'anything goes'
Party Time Tuesdays - 'anything goes'

And Some More Christmas Cards!

I've almost finished making my cards for Christmas (still a few more to go!) and here are two that I made yesterday.  They were made using a Lace template in my Cuttlebug - so much easier (and more accurate!) that cutting the templates by hand!

The first one uses blue and silver - Craft Creations paper and a circular sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

Next, the same card using a red and green colour scheme:
Craft Creations paper again and a sentiment from Craftwork Cards too.

Some challenges for these cards:

Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge - 'anything goes for Christmas'
Divas by Design - 'Merry Christmas'
Charisma Cardz - 'last minute Christmas'
Saturday Challenge - 'celebration'
Southern Girls Challenge - 'let's celebrate'
Paper Sundaes - 'celebrate'

Chloe and Reindeer

Another Christmas card today - this time made with a very cute Pink Gem stamp that I bought a little while back and have finally got round to using!  It's called 'Chloe and Reindeer' and is so sweet - lovely to colour in too.

I've used a scalloped card blank from Crafwork Cards and papers from a Hot Off the Press book that was free with a magazine recently.  I've added red nail head gems to the corners of the image panel and Card Candi either side of the image.

A few challenges for this one:

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long - 'seeing spots' (strip across the middle of the card)
ABC Christmas Challenge - 'U is for unused stash'
Pollycraft Monday Challenge - 'girls, girls, girls'

My card was made using one of my Greetings Farm Anya stamps - this one is from the 'Miss Anya Collection' and I thought it was perfect for this challenge!  I've used some patterned papers from a pad that was free with one of the craft magazines and some Kraft paper from Craft Creations.  The little sentiment is from Craftwork Cards.

A couple of challenges for this card - Papertake Weekly - 'get in shape' (oval, rectangle and square) and Craft Your Passion - a card for all occasions.

And my other news - if you've got the latest issue of "Simply Cards and Papercraft", I'm featured on pages 46 and 47 of the little booklet that comes with the magazine, "Designers' Guilde to .... Christmas Cards"!  The card is one of the ones I made with the Red Gingham Christmas stamps from Little Claire, "The Robin and the Ivy".  I was really pleased with the way it looks although I must get a better photo!!

You Deserve a Treat!

I couldn't resist this stamp when I spotted it at the Harrogate Show - it's perfect for at least half a dozen people I can think of!  It's a Crafter's Companion SWALK stamp called "You Deserve a Treat".

For this birthday cards for one of my friends, I've kept the design fairly simple - just some pink floral paper (from a free paper pad) and a little bit of striped ribbon across the middle of the paper.  I used some brown paper round the edge of this layer and Card Candi coloured with a Promarker.  The little tag is from Craftwork Cards.

A couple of challenges for this one:

The Paper Shelter - 'for the girls'
Sweet Stampin - 'anything goes' (second entry)

Rose Arbour - New from Little Claire Designs

I made this card using the new 'Rose Arbour' set of stamps launched today by Little Claire Designs - you can see all the details and a selection of beautiful cards from the DT here.  I'd like to take full credit for this gorgeous card but I'm not quite that clever!  The card blank is from the set of 'centre step' stepper cards also from Little Claire Designs which are here on their website.  This is the side view of the card:
As well as the stamped images, I used some pink card, white Card Candy and also the pink and white dotty paper which is available here.

This is another card I made using the verse and flourish from the stamp set:
The paper on this one is from Echo Park and I added some lace which I thought went perfectly with the design.  The scalloped card base is from Craftwork Cards.

I'd like to enter the first of the cards in the following challenges:

Birthday Marci

Here's a birthday card made with the 'Fancy Marci' stamp from La La Land Crafts.  I've used a base card from Craftwork Cards (decorated with punched dots) and paper from Kanban.  The plain and polka dot paper is on the same sheet so the colour matches perfectly.  To finish the card, I've added some white sheer ribbon and a sentiment circle from Craftwork Cards.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:

Allsorts Challenge - 'free and easy'
I Love Promarkers - 'anything goes'

A Little Bit of Summer ....

This is my first blog post for a little while - I've been away for a break in Scotland and then the Lake District so haven't made any cards for a little while.  It was sunny and very warm in both places - a bit too hot for me when we were in the Lake District!  Thankfully it's much cooler back here at home and I suspect it's going to rain very soon!  So I've been crafting today and here's another card made with one of the very cute stamps from the Lily at the Beach set from Pink Cat Studio.  I've used it with some paper from Pink Petticoat and a summer definite stamp from Debbi Moore.  I finished the card with some Card Candy.
