Head over to the challenge blog here for all the details and to see the cards from the rest of the team.

Here's another view of my card:

I have to admit that I wasn't too sure about this theme and to approach it so I ended up hedging my bets a bit!

I used some wood effect patterned paper from Stampin' Up as my background.  Then I also stamped with one of the stamps from The Winter Woods stamp set.

I used Crumbcake cardstock and stamped with Early Espresso ink stamping off for the tree in the centre.

The sentiment I've used is from the A Touch of Ink stamp set.

New Male Room Challenge - Not a Card

We've got a new challenge today at The Male Room Challenge Blog and this time we'd like to see something which is not a card.

Head over to the challenge blog here to see all the details and the projects from the rest of the team.

For my project, I decided to make a set of three ATCs.

I used Vintage Photo and Tea Dye Distress Inks on which card applied with sponges and then sprayed with a mist of water.  I let the water settle on the cards and then blotted them with kitchen roll.

Once they were dry I stamped various Stampin' Up stamps on top together with the same sentiment (also from Stampin' Up) in black Memento ink.

To finish I layered the stamped panels on to black card.

I would like to enter my ATCs in the following challenges:

To make my card I have used elements from Lauren C Waterworth's Steampunk Digital Scrapbook Kit:

You can find the kit here in Lauren's Etsy shop.

There is a lot in this digital kit!  You can choose from images, frames, papers, embellishments and more.

I used one of the images, a frame and one of the paper designs.  I added some Tea Dye Distress Inks to take the white off the edges of the paper and layered with dark brown paper.

New Male Room Challenge - Tartan and Plaid

We've got a new challenge today on The Male Room Challenge Blog and this time it's:

Head over to the challenge blog here for all the details and to see the cards from the rest of the team.

As soon as I saw this theme I knew I wanted to make a shirt card using some of the Plaid Tidings paper I bought recently from Stampin' Up but the end result wasn't quite what I'd planned!

I had intended to make an origami shirt to put on the front of the card but after two attempts I gave up and decided to make my own design instead!

I embossed the tie and handkerchief with a Stampin' Up embossing folder and added a birthday sentiment with outline stickers at the top of the card.
