Really, really loved this sketch and I'll probably use again quite a few times! I've included my favourite colour, which is turquoise and slotted in Sandy's money envelope in the layers. I've also used one of the nestie shapes that Clare gave me the other week (thanks, flower x). Used my favourite Christmas stamp, Trimming the Tree, which I think looks a bit like my son, Euan. Daisy and Dandelion Christmas papers have been used.

This sketch was really useful when I was making gift cards for my family. Instead of the embellishments on the right of the image in the sketch, I've hidden the gift envelope.
New: Trimming the Tree stamp from Funkykits, which I absolutely love cos it looks a bit like my wee boy, Euan!
Neglected: Daisy & Dandelion Christmas papers and some very thin peel off lines, silver stars that my mother-in-law gave me ages ago

I am finally back in the land of Blog after having a sick PC AND laptop!! The good camera has also been damaged with 2 pulls off the worktop by Euan(entirely our stupidity for leaving it within his reach!), so it's the trusty little Canon that's getting used all the time just now.
This card is for my brother-in-law, Clark, whose birthday it is tomorrow. Just finished it and I'm chuffed that I can enter the Charisma Cardz challenge - Anything but Christmas and the Creative Card Crew challenge- Anything Goes. Did these challenges a few weeks ago an thoroughly enjoyed doing them. The DT members also took the time to leave really nice comments too.
The image has been glossed for a 3d shiny effect. And the silver card has been embossed using the Sizzix Squares Texturz plates - I thought it looked like the chequered flag.
Hope Clark likes it!
The sketch and prize are so fab this time that I just had to have another go! I also wanted to try it with a simpler colour/paper scheme. The paper is, again, free download "Winter Wonderland" from Summer. With some peel off faux stitching (for the zigzag part of the challenge) and straight lines. The image is Catch a Falling Star (thanks, Clare x ), coloured with Whispers pens, Stardust Stickles. Oh, and her top has a zig zag pattern added! The 2 white panels have been embossed with diagonal lines in 2 directions (to try to make more zig zags).
After Arty'Mrs had posted her daughter's card on her blog, I decided to put my ideas in to motion for my kiddywinkies. And after seeing Natalie's tutorial on masking, I HAD to have a go of that!! I am also planning to enter it in 3 challenges (thanks, Mandy, for the easy to see challenge blog timetable!!): Charisma Cardz - Anything Christmas
Papertake Weekly - Christmas
Creative Card Crew - Favourite things - So many favourite things - my children, these images (Trimming the Tree & Bear Hug) and they're from my favourite store, Funkykits, the colour Teal, Bear Hug is my daughter's favourite Gorjuss Girl and turquoise is her favourite colour, the orange and brown clothes of the little boy echo my favourite outfit for Euan to wear, and Stardust Stickles is FAB!!! Oh, and there is a hint of free Summer Driggs download paper too!!
Now all I need to do is post the links to the relevant sites!!

Decided to have a go at the layout on Sketch & Stash this week - Challenge 24 - always love these sketches! Also tried a different colour combo for me - brown/orange/green - and I think I like it!
New stash: Forever Friends image from Clare - thanks, Huni x
Neglected stash: Paper (think Clare gave me that too!), Core'dinations Mod pack card
For this week's Sugar Bowl Challenge 24, I used SugarNellie's Santa's Little Helper (thank you, Mel x ). I coloured her with Whispers Pastel pens and brush and some Stardust Stickles. The papers are the free "Giving" download on Summer Driggs's blog, edged with some red paper from Papermill. The sketch was great this week, and you had to include zig zags - I've got a zigzag edge on the centre panel, and 3 lines of ricrac!! The prize this time is a full set of 7 stamps being released this month, so an entry is an absolute must!!

I really do think that Daisy is my favourite stamp - look at her - she's beautiful! Anyway, for this card, I coloured her with Whispers Pastel markers and brush. The background paper is another free Summer Driggs download (think I may be addicted!) - the bold circles are Winter Wonderland and the subtle blue circles Winter Gifts. I've added some Papermania scalloped card, Anita's straight line peel offs, XCut Retro punched flowers and a computer generated greeting.
I WAS going to enter this card in to the Sugar Bowl challenge 24, but I've just realised that I've missed a horizontal element. Oh well, what a great excuse to make another card (like I need an excuse!!). The beautiful image is Angel Wishes, from Sugar Nellie (thanks, Mel x ). The paper is Autumn Leaves 12 x 12 Paper by Rhonna Farrer - Seasons Stripe and DCWV Jewel stack. I put Stardust Stickles on her wings and the dog's hat, and I glossed her hair, her bow, the hat and some of the dots on the paper. The sentiment is "The gift of friends and family is the greatest
gift of all" and is a free Summer Driggs download.
I've made quite a few similar cards using Christmas
trees from last year's cards and a patchwork of paper scraps. It's been great fun using this technique and
getting so many similar but different cards!

Hee hee, I've won an award - twice!! Thank you so much Mandy & Mel. Mandy chose me as one of her 5 on Wednesday last week, but I couldn't do anything about it cos I was looking after Lou. who was off school with flu. Had a card to enter last week's Totally Gorjuss challenge, but unfortunately got flu so didn't make it in time. But entering the challenge this week!
The background papers are free downloads from Summer Driggs. Paper pieced Gorjuss Little Star's dress, cutting her hand with a craft knife to layer over the top. Ribbon & snowlfakes and Stardust Stickles to finish.
Another challenging sketch for the Sugarbowl, but I really had to have a go. Used Basic Grey Sugared papers that I've had for ages. Coloured my beautiful Chickadee image with Whispers pens and brush, finishing her with some Stardust Stickles. Threaded the ribbons and tied the tag on. Now all I need is a bit of luck!! Nowhere near as special as the d
esign team's examples, but an attempt! And here's the sketch and "thankfulness" is the please include part.
A little glimpse into my crafty obsessions...
