A sewing theme challenge at Kaboodle Doodles:
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.co.nz/2012/09/challenge-138-stitching.html
I have gone with a combination of the sewing theme and some faux stitching:
The background paper is from Create with TLC and is called In Mom's Day. The image is also from Create with TLC and is called Vintage Sewing Day. The sentiment is also from Create with TLC and is called Sewing Mends the Soul. I have coloured the image with copics and added some faux stitching to the black cardstock matting using a gel pen. I have also added some faux stitching around the sentiment using a Distress Marker.

Thank You teacher
I have added another card to my stash of Thank You cards for teachers for year end.
This card will be entered into the following challenges:
Tuesday Alchemy - blackboard, gears & tart
http://tuesdayalchemy.blogspot.gr/2012/09/challenge-33-random-word-inspiration.html
Jellypark Challenges - Thank You.
http://jellyparkchallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2012/09/time-to-say-thank-you.html
I was busy looking through my images to find a blackboard image and came across this steampunk owl. Immediately, my mind thought of education so... another Thank You card for the teachers was started.
The steampunk owl comes from Making our Mark. The background image of a recipe card is a coloured digi stamp from When the Scrap Hits the Fun. The blackboard is from Beyond the Fringe. I'm not sure where the sentiment is from - I only printed it out last night but do you think I can find the source now!!

S is for Santa
The challenge at ABC Christmas Challenges has now reached the letter S - a reminder that Christmas is not that far away!
http://abcchristmaschallenge.blogspot.co.nz/2012/09/s-for-santa-claus-is-coming-to-town.html
I have a bright and cheerful Santa card:
I have used a bright and colourful backing paper from Free Digital Scrapbook. The image is from Cre8tive Hands and is called Santa in Chimney. I have coloured this using copic markers and added dimension n the hair and hands with Matte Accents. The fur trim and snow have been glitzed up with some crystallina Kindy Glitz. I had some Christmas embellishments that I got in a grab bag at a craft fair which I hadn't yet used. I have added one of those to this card.

Apple Tree and Bear
I have made a card that reminds me of my childhood! Every summer when the apples needed to be picked from the tree, it was a family activity and one I loved.
I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Birdie Brown - using supplied image
http://birdiebrown.blogspot.co.nz/2012/09/september-freebies.html
Ruby's Rainbow - trees
http://rubysrainbow.blogspot.co.nz/2012/09/rubys-rainbow-ch38-trees.html
The card uses some backing paper from a paper pack by Rosie's Studio. The red ric-rac is from American Crafts. The apple is a die-cut from Sissix. I have added a bit of a shiny spot to the apple using Matte Accents.
The images, which I have coloured with copic markers, both come from Birdie Brown and are the freebies for their challenge. The sentiment is from Create with TLC and is called Breezes taste of Apple.
