Just Saying Hello

Last month, I discovered an International Card swap challenge after reading about it on a blog that I follow (a member of a NZ card swap group that I belong to).  I decided that I would join in for October.

I sent my card to Robyn in Australia.  I had read on her blog that she enjoys gardening so I included the leaves option in my card.  I ended up as a result using all four options in the challenge (you only have to use one).  So I have the three colours, sketch, leaves and die-cuts.

The cards for October have just been revealed, so I can now share my card here:

I would like to enter:
Sweet Stampers - Autumn
https://sweetstamperschallenge.blogspot.com/2019/10/37-autumn-or-halloween_10.html
Sparkles Monthly Challenge
http://sparklesforumchallenges.blogspot.com/

I have used a tangerine coloured paper from a paper pad for the background.  I die-cut some circles in both cherry and gold colours.  I die-cut the leaves using different dies from Memory Crafts.  I added a sentiment from Birdie Brown which I coloured with a tangerine coloured copic marker.

I couldn't get the link to the actual post for the Sparkles Monthly Challenge to come up to copy it so I have linked to the blog.  It is the top post still so hopefully it will stay like that for any of my lovely readers who are trying to find it.

Just Saying Hello

The leaves behind the flowers on this card are actually from the same diecut.  I just trimmed off two of the leaf sprigs from the main shoot and turned them around to fit the layout that I desired.

The image is "Hey Pumpkin" from Birdie Brown.  If I understood a recent post correctly, then this will be the final challenge on Birdie Brown.  I have really enjoyed participating in these challenges since I came across them.  If you haven't had a chance to participate in a challenge, this may be your last chance!!

I have coloured the image using copic markers in autumnal colours.  I forgot to write down the numbers as I was colouring so I'd only be guessing which ones they were!  I finished off with a bow from twine.

Your Body

Inspiration for this card comes from the video "Your Body" by Christina Aguilera.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Musically Challenged - Your Body
http://musicallychallengedchallenge.blogspot.gr/2013/08/your-body-challenge-5.html
Robyn's Fetish - Lots of Layers
http://robynsfetishchallengeblog.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/challenge-172-lots-of-layers-8112013.html
Crafting for All Seasons - Something Hidden
http://craftingforallseasons.blogspot.co.nz/2013/08/challenge-58-something-hidden.html

I have used two parts of the video for this card - the retro TV and the pink confetti.  My teenage daughter and I were looking at the video together and she said "Why don't you do a shaker card Mum?" when she saw the confetti at the end.  I had been thinking of the Retro TV and then remembered I had an image from Birdie Brown of a retro TV that would be perfect to use.

I cut out the centre of the TV and then applied some acetate over the hole.  After a long search for some pink confetti - seems to come in any colour but! - I finally found some that worked.  I have used a pink card blank to keep the pink theme in there.  When I completed the card, it still seemed to be lacking a bit so I dotted some Glossy Accents around and then covered the whole card with more pink confetti, left it to dry and hoped for the best!

I'm not entirely sure of my entry into the Crafting For All Seasons challenge as my interpretation may be a bit off!  The confetti in the shaker part of the card is largely hidden until you shake the card!

Dolphins

An aquatic themed card.  I seem to be tending towards these a bit at the moment:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Birdie Brown - Dolphins
http://birdiebrown.blogspot.jp/2013/07/july-freebies-challenge.html

Crafting for All Seasons - BINGO
http://craftingforallseasons.blogspot.co.nz/2013/07/challenge-56-bingo.html

I have used a lilac coloured card blank for this card.  I had run out of white and didn't have a chance to get to the shops - then I discovered the challenge at CFAS needed lilac...so problem solved!!

The paper is a left over piece from another card which I then wrapped some twine around.  The image is from Birdie Brown, coloured with copic markers, die-cut with Spellbinders die and then the corners have Stickles - Waterfall added.  I have also added clear rhinestones to the corners of the card.

Using an Old Sketch

It was fun going through some of the old sketches at AnnaBelle Stamps - most were before I was aware of that challenge.  I chose this one to work with:

I changed from a quarter letter size to a square card but otherwise followed the sketch:

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Just Some Lines - Anything Goes
http://justsomelinesblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/just-some-lines-anything-goes-with-just.html
AnnaBelle Stamps - Free choice of sketch
http://annabellestamps.blogspot.co.nz/2013/05/ac164.html
Little Tangles - Just say Hello
http://littletangles.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/challenge-14-just-say-hello.html

I have used some easter paper from my stash - although it doesn't totally scream easter so could be used for other occasions.  The ribbon is grosgrain from American Crafts.  The brown pearls are from my stash.  The image is from Just Some Lines and coloured with copic markers and a sentiment from Birdie Brown added.

DIY Dad

A card with a masculine feel - I am starting to get a better number of these in my card box!

This card is for the challenges at:
Delightful Inspirations From the heart - Sketch 17
http://designed2delight.com/blog/2013/05/i-heart-card-sketches-no-17/
Birdie Brown - DIY Dad
http://birdiebrown.blogspot.co.nz/2013/05/new-freebie-challenge.html

I have used a couple of background papers from a paper pad by Glitz called Vintage Blues.  I have used three different grosgrain ribbons from American Crafts.  The image is from Birdie Brown, coloured with copic markers and matted with metallic paper.

I used the sketch from Delightful Inspirations from The Heart but rotated it by 90 degrees.

CAS Rose Card

http://birdiebrown.blogspot.jp/2013/03/the-2nd-birthday-challenge-2.html

The card uses white cardstock, copic markers, rhinestones and an image from Birdie Brown (which I have repeated).  I coloured the image and some of the white cardstock with copic markers to achieve the matting colours that I wanted.

Happy Birthday Amigurumi

I just so love this image from Birdie Brown and wanted to use it again:

The card is for the following challenges:
Birdie Brown - Birthday
http://birdiebrown.blogspot.co.nz/2013/03/2nd-birthday-challenge-1.html
Robyn's Fetish - Birthday
http://robynsfetishchallengeblog.blogspot.co.nz/2013/03/challenge-150-birthday-cards-3102013.html

I have used some pieces of paper from a paper pad by DCWV called Lemon Flowers.  Both of these papers are leftovers from other cards.  The image is from Birdie Brown and the sentiment is Happy Birthday Flag from Create with TLC.

I have used copic markers E43 for the bear (including the face - it is lighter as the ink was running out and I haven't had time to refill it!).  The lighter ink on the face has given the bear a bit more texture!  The greens I think are G17 and G14 and the yellows are Y08 and Y02 (at least I think that was the two I used).  The nose is RV10.

I learnt something this challenge that I didn't know before I started this challenge - thanks to the link that Torico provided explaining about Amigurumi and the image supplied:

Snowflakes

This card is a combination of a sketch and a snowflake theme:

The sketch is from the challenge at Christmas Challenges {with sketches}
http://christmaschallenges.blogspot.co.nz/2012/12/challenge-54-sponsored-by-robyns-fetish.html
The snowflake theme comes from the challenge at Incy Wincy:
http://incywincydesigns.blogspot.co.nz/2012/12/christmas-with-snowflakes.html
I am also entering the card in the challenge at Bearly Mine Challenge Blog:
http://bearlymine-challenges.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/challenge-65-anything-goes.html

The card has been created using some background papers from my stash together with some from Bearly Mine Designs - all with snowflakes on them.  I have added a punched snowflake to hold the corner of one of the pieces of paper.  The image comes from Birdie Brown and is called Snowman Family and the sentiment is an acrylic stamp die-cut using Spellbinders.  The colouring has been done with copic markers, crystallina kindy glitz and some Matte Accents.
