Cheery Lynn Designs Vintage Holiday

For my Cheery Lynn Designs post today I have a cute vintage holiday card, at least my version of vintage, lol.  I started with a burgundy French Flair Stacker card base, 5 5/8 inches square. I die cut the largest die from the Horizon French Flair Boutique Stacker set from cream DP and layered that onto the card base.  Then using the next to the largest Silver French Flair Stacker, I added another layer of DP.  You can see how well these dies match up to give you perfect layers.  The same thing for my fancy oval; a burgundy panel cut from the mid size Horizon Oval Boutique Stacker with a coordinating DP panel cut from the Silver Oval Stackers.  I added a straight piece of Horizon Square Boutique Stacker for Tilda to perch.

Using cream mulberry paper from a Touch of Grace, I die cut my Poinsettia Strip die, layering two large, one medium and one small petal.  I pinched each petal down the middle and fluffed a bit for some dimension.  Next using burgundy mulberry paper , I created two roses from my Miniature Rose die.  I dry embossed the backs to give them a rounded shape, then layered and shaped them.  I added three Holly Leaves and pieces from my Holly Lace Flourish.

Cheery Lynn Designs Summer Daisies

Here is a bright and happy card to hopefully bring warmer weather our way.  The Cheery Lynn Designs challenge this week is Flowers and I have used my Daisy Strip die to make some colorful flowers for my card.  I love this die as you get 6 flowers with one pass through your die cut machine.  Just shape them a bit with an embossing tool as I did, stack them and you are good to go.  As a backdrop for my image, I layered the largest of the Sentiment Tag 2 dies onto the largest of the Sentiment Tag 1 dies.  Then I layered those onto my Polynesian Sails Oval which I backed with the matching angel wing.  I added a bit of faux stitching around the edge of the Sentiment Tag 1.

Click on the pic above for a closer look at the flowers.  Even though they are stacked four high, they keep a pretty low profile, perfect for mailing.  Finished size is 5.75" square.

Cheery Lynn Designs Step Card

I have created a cute Christmas Step Card for Cheery Lynn Designs.  I love how quick you can make one of these with the use of Cheery Lynn Designs Step Card die.  I mean, it not only cuts and scores the card base, you can also cut out the perfect panels for both inside and out!  To embellish my card, I used my Alison's Ribbons set, so many combinations to make perfectly matching paper ribbon.  Behind my image I added a Rum Punch Doily.  Using my Circle Stackers, I cut the center out of the doily, added some texture with my Circle Stitcher Plate and then put the circle back into the doily.  I used dimensionals to raise the image above the doily.

Finished size is 5 5/8" square, perfect for a 6" square envelope.  You can see the lovely DP panel I die cut for the inside of my card.

Tilda with Daisy Shaped Card

The challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs is to make a Shaped Card, anything but square or rectangle.  I chose to use my Scalloped Circle Large Stackers for the card base and the coordinating Silver Circle Stackers for the DP panels.  I added a Spring Flower Burst Doily as a backdrop for my Tilda with Daisy.  I stamped her onto Cryogen paper with my Memento ink.
Copics used:
Tilda - E000, E00, E11
Hair - E21, E23, E25
Dress, bow and socks - V00, V12
Shoes - E41
Daisy - YR21, Y18, G40
I used my Darling Daisies to embellish the lovely doily, using only the two smallest petals on the die.

For the inside of the card, I die cut another scalloped circle and matching silver circle for adding a sentiment or personal greeting.  I again embellished with Darling Daisies but this time, I used all three of the petals on the die.  Finished size is 5 5/8" and will fit perfectly into a 6" envelope.

Non-Traditional Christmas Colors

The challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs is Non-Traditional Christmas colors.  I have this great paper from Magnolia in purples and grays.  So I created a diagonal easel card using my French Flair Scalloped Lg stacker dies for the base and my Silver French Flair stacker dies for the matching DP panels.  Still in the mood to layer doilies, I started off with my Sophia's Heart Doily in purple; then die cut my French Pastry Doily in purple adding a light grey Angel Wing backer.  I used dimensionals between the angel wing and Sophia's Heart.  Next came this beautiful Geometric Snowflake which I also popped up.

I had intended on adding this adorable Tilda from Magnolia's Sweet Christmas Dreams collection to the front of my card but I could not bear to cover up the snowflake.  So I added a bunch of pearl accents to the snowflake and added Tilda on the inside of the card.  Behind her I added a Mini Flourish One, I thought it mimicked the pattern in the paper quite well.  For my sentiment panel I used my Oval Scalloped Lg stackers and the matching Silver Oval stackers.  Finished size is 6" square.

Kangaroo Tilda

When I saw this new Kangaroo Tilda from Magnolia Rubber Stamps, I knew she would pair up perfectly with Cheery Lynn Designs Aussie Kangaroo Doily die.  I cut the doily then backed it with a circle die cut using my Circle XL Stackers.  I die cut the doily again out of Cryogen white paper, colored the Kangaroo dropouts with my Copics and then added them back into my dark brown doily.

I used my Card Makers Rectangle Scalloped dies to make the panel on the front as well as the panel on the inside.  Don't the drop out Kangaroos from the doily look great across the border on the inside?  I added a corner embellishment using  my Lace Corner Deco J die and some flowers created with the Build a Flower Embellishment #2 set.  Finished size is 5.5" square.

Cheery Lynn Designs Borders and Edgers challenge

The challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs challenge blog is Borders and Edgers.  I have created an oval card using my Scalloped Oval Lg Stackers for the card base and the matching Silver Oval Stacker for the background panel.  Next I added a Tiffany Border across the center then put a Polynesian Sails Oval on top of that.  This gave my Magnolia Rubber Stamps Tilda a place to sit.  The last step was to create some flowers using my Cherry Blossom die.  This card will slide right into a 5 x 7 inch envelope.
