Everything is Going GREEN at DRS

I was just in Savannah (one of my FAVE cities) and they have the second largest St. Patty's Day celebration in the nation...AND I think that DRS has the FIRST most awesome and adorable St. Patty's Day stamps! This is one of the new images that they are releasing and I love love LOVE IT! It is not that easy to find a fun St. Pat's stamp and I think Hatful of Shamrocks fits the bill. I know that I can get carried away with green, so I used a yellow background with the shamrock easy background stamp for the first layer. Then I stamped and colored my image with copics and gel and glitter pens. I added this sentiment also from DRS and here is my card. Quick and easy and super St. Patty!!! Check out DRS for these and so many other fun stamps... and wait til you see what is coming up for Easter!!! Thanks for poppin in and STAY TUNED!!!

Things are POPPING up all over!!!

I was having my snack tonight and I thought of my DRS Designs stamps!!! I am ALWAYS thinking about stamping!!!(LOL) anyway... I made this super cute wiper card complete with embossing, ribbon and a fun surprise of a pop up bowl of well... POP corn! I embossed the popcorn background on yellow paper and then I layered the sentiment onto red paper and added some spunky white dots to set off the embossed popcorn. on the next picture you can see that when you pull the opposite sides of the card... a bowl of popcorn pops up. With all of the popping going on... I simply HAD to used these cute popcorn stamps! For the small yellow strip, I embossed the paper for texture. For the white paper, I scalloped the edge, tied a ribbon and added red dots to carry through the color! It is great to be back to stamping ans sharing and I sincerely hope that you all enjoyed my post today! Happy Saturday!!!

Yehaw Y'all!

I love horses. I love everything about them... I don't even mind cleaning stalls...they just make my soul happy. When I got this awesome stamp form DRS... I was so happy and I said out loud (to no one...) "WOW, they did it again!" Meaning... DRS came up with a new batch of wonderful stamps and this one tops my favorites list! For the first card, I used this gorgeous horse head stamp and stamped it in the same color ink as the paper for a subtle background effect. I added my most favorite saying and used ink to distress the edges of the paper. ( This saying is great for graduation cards too!)
Then I punched out the little flowers and added a little bit of bling for the center, and that was it! Simple... but I really love the look of the horses "running" in the background.

For this next card, I used the horse stamp also. This time I embossed it in gold on black paper for a more dramatic effect. When I used my die to cut the shape, I thought that this really looked like a wanted poster! I mounted the black onto a piece of brown that I stamped with an easy background stamp to make it look like weathered wood. Then I tore and distressed another paper to mount that on. Last was the brown matt and the scrolls in the corner for a little flair. I really love how these cards came out and how I can make two totally different cards with the same awesome stamp! It makes my creativity and my stamping dollars really stretch!
Please check out the "Cards For Heros" badge on my sidebar. Get all the details on how to help make this a happier holiday season for our troops!

A GENIE... in a BAG??? What About the BOTTLE???

This is a Genie Bag... I don't think there is a genie IN the bag... I did not put one in there. One may have crawled in during the night... I sure hope he does housework!!! I used the flower easy backgrounder and the Happy Birthday ribbon slide. I kept the project simple... but you should see what the OTHER DT members came up with... Check it out here! This would be a great way to give some hand made cards for a gift and then there would be a great matching gift bag! Happy Fourth of July!!!

So I saw something like this for sale somewhere and I thought," I can TOTALLY make this!" So I got out my HUGE binder of DRS stamps and i knew exactly which one to go to! I took the Star Background and stamped it in silver ink all over red and blue cardstock and let it dry first. Then I took my large star punch and punched out enough stars to
spell CELEBRATE. I used letter rub ons and spelled out the word using white letters. I adhered each star onto the red, white and blue ribbon and created a loop at the top so that you can hang this wherever you want! This was so quick and easy to make and I did not have to spend like $10...more money for stamps! I took a close up of the stars so that you can see how gorgeous the background is! I have a little friend who has a July 4th birthday and I think she will enjoy having this so she can enjoy her special day and decorate her room as well! Thanks for stopping by and I hope that you will create some wonderful little decoration like this for your CELEBRATIONS as well!
here is the close up!!!
