52 Christmas Card Throwdown - Technique

Happy Monday, folks!

Over the weekend I was looking through a few different challenges and spotted that it was Technique Week over at 52CCT and they were playing with RETIFIORM. I'm not sure which rock I've been hiding under but this was a new technique to me and I decided to give it a go.

As I'm a CAS girl at heart, I decided to attempt a cleaner look for my card. I used blue Versafine ink and Distress Ink, and stamped images from Jane's Doodles into each cell.

This is very much a first attempt, but I really enjoyed creating a card with a very different look from those I usually produce. Thanks to the DT at 52CCT for all the inspiration - they've created some gorgeous cards using this technique and each member of the team, and their guest, Kath, have really made this technique their own and used it in different ways.

Thanks for dropping by, and happy crafting!

Pretty card with the retiform layout, Jo!! I've heard of it (been a while) and thought I'd tried it once. Couldn't find anything on my blog though so thanks for the inspiration - will give it a go :)

Awesome effect, fun to see so many images used and with that it also works kepping them uncolored.

Catching up again! But I have peeked at all I've missed. It's a very long time since I saw this design Jo, you've done well methinks, with all the wonderful images, words and colour. x

A great card and although I think I've seen this done I had no idea it was a 'thing' nor that it actually had a name. Learn something new all the time 😉

Hi Jo this looks fantastic I am afraid I must have also been hiding under the same stone because I have never heard of that technique either but then there seems to be a lot of new things coming into crafting I have never heard of or seen I think you have done a brilliant job with this one
