Birthday Party Ideas

Hi everyone!

Here are a couple of birthday ideas that I'm sure will brighten up your party:

We all know that organizing a party can be stressful, so the simple everything is, the better. But at the same time we want to create something pretty and special for our guests.

A candy basket as a party favor is an excellent choice! Not only because you can fill it up with other things besides candy, but because you can adapt it according to your theme. You can use different papers and color combinations (peach and aqua colors look fantastic together!), or simply you can add flowers for a Primaveral look.

A magic wand is something that no girl can resist. And they are so quick and easy to make, that you'll end up making a bunch of these in no time at all. Instead of using stars and a ribbon, how about hearts and lots of strings for a more romantic feeling? ;)

No birthday would be complete without a birthday card! And Tombow Dual Brush Pens makes the task even easier! You can either use the blending pen (like I did in this card) or use water and a brush to blend the colors together, and if you don’t have a coordinating sentiment/stamp to go with your theme or simply because you feel like doing it by yourself, you can handwrite the sentiment using these markers too. I know… it is the coolest thing ever!! J

Finally, sequins are so “in” right now! But if you don’t like them, use rhinestones or glitter instead, or simple leave the card as is.

Now I’ll leave you to the video tutorial:

Supplies:

Tombow MONO Permanent Adhesive
Tombow MONO Multi Liquid Glue
Tombow Dual Brush Pens - Bright Palette
Patterned Paper by We R Memory Keepers

White Cardstock
Paper Straw by Celebrate It!
Glitter by Doodlebug Design
Scallop, Circle, and Star Punches by Stampin Up
Paper Trimer
Balloons Stamp by Magnolia
Happy Birthday Sentiment Stamp by Stampin Up

Saturated Canary Facebook Challenge: Anything Goes!

Hello lovelies!

Today the *Saturated Canaries* are starting our next image showcase challenge over on our *Saturated Canary Facebook page*.

And this time the challenge is... *Anything Goes*.

But before I continue with this post, let me show you what I did...

A shaped card with a folded corner. (OK that's the best description I could come up with...LOL!)

The stamp is *Birthday Balloons* by Saturated Canary and you can find her *here*! She was colored with Prismacolor Pencils (no blending solution!). And I adhered her to the card using 3D dots. As for the card, I used double-sided papers by Pink Paisley and flowers by Prima Marketing. For the hearts I used corrugated pink cardstock, which I cut using my Big Shot, and the sentiment is My Mind's Eye.

Now for the challenge...

You can make any creation you like... be it a card, a scrap page, an altered something, smash book/journal page, etc. Just let your creativity go!

The prize, as always, will be 2 digital images of your choice from the shop and the rules are super simple too..

* you can enter ONLY ONCE.

( this makes it fair for everyone )

* you can enter with any FINISHED creation but...IT MUST BE HANDCRAFTED.

(digital colouring of Krista's images is not permitted in accordance to TOU's)

Can't wait to see what you create and *thanks* for stopping by!!

Reading Melissa and Celebrating a Special Day!

So yeah... I am celebrating a very special day...

My Birthday!! YAY!!!!

Now don't kill yourselves by trying to get me a present...

nor flood my inbox with lovely birthday wishes... LOL! Just kidding!!

Actually I am very thankful for the opportunity that God has given me to be alive, for the amazing family and friends that surround me (including all of you my followers!), and for all the things that I have! Being alive and being able to celebrate another year is truly a blessing! <3

So yeah... I'm definitely celebrating this day!! :-)

And to start off the celebration, here's my latest inspirational project for Saturated Canary...

A *book card* featuring the beautiful Melissa stamp and you can find her *here*.

She was colored with Prismacolor Pencils and cut in a circle shape using Nestabilities by Spellbinders.

All papers that you see here are by Bazzill Basics Paper - Vintage Marketplace Collection, flowers are by Wild Orchid Crafts and generic, and the rest are trims, pearls, machine stitching, and some distressing to the borders using Walnut Stain.

Well I hope that you have liked this project! Now I'm off to celebrate my day ;-)

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!! ~xoxo~

Happy Birthday!!

And here it is *finally*... the card that I've been bragging about on Facebook ;-)

It is a *birthday* card that I created using the lovely *Cherry on Top* stamp by Saturated Canary.

I colored her with Prismacolor Pencils with the mineral spirits technique. If you are following me in You Tube also, then you are familiar with this technique. But if not, I invite you to visit my channel and become a follower, as I plan to upload *quickie* videos and coloring techniques more often :-)

Anyway, patterned paper is by Crate Paper, coloring paper is Bristol Vellum Surface, heart and tag dies are Magnolia, flowers are Prima and Magnolia, and the rest of the embellishments (rhynestones, doily, trims and ribbons) are generic.

Thanks for stopping by!! xoxo

A Birthday Card for Monica

My beautiful niece MΓ³nica turned 15 years old last week...

And this is the card that I made her:

Tilda is one of the newest stamps from the Princes and Princesses Collection... so stinking adorable!! :-)

I colored her with Distress Inks and mixed *a lot* of colors to get this effect ;-)  Papers are from Bo Bunny, the heart die hockey doo is one of the newest from Magnolia too, and the border die is from Memory Box. Finally, the big pink flower is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the others are generic ones ;-)

I didn't photograph it, but inside I made a small pocket to fit some $$$ to give to her ;-)  I don't have to tell you how happy she was! :-D

Thanks for stopping by!!
