Beauty of Dreams and a Quick Tip!

Happy Friday!  I have a card to share with you today using the newly release set from ODBD called Dreams.  I am playing along with the ODBD Shining the Light Challenge ODBDSLC108 which is an inspiration challenge.  Still time to play along.

For my card I am using the sketch from Cardabilities #55.  I decided to go a bit vintage with this card.  I combined one of my favorite Prima paper pads.

For this card I decided to use some aida cloth. I die cut  two leafy stems with a sizzix die I have had for awhile.  I mounted the very fragile cut piece to some lightweight kraft card stock.  I then stitched the leaves a bit for added effect as well as to make sure it stayed attached to the card stock.  I ink distressed everything, stitched the edges, and added some colorful flower assortment, seam binding bow, and a few memory thread curly ques tucked in to further emphasize the floral arrangement in the inspiration piece.   Love how it turned out.  What do you think?  Ever use real aida cloth like this?

Quick Tip:
The focal image quote was cut with a pinking shears die cut four times for each edge.  To give a more distressed quality as well as to make it look more like a fabric swatch I used a really OLD cutting plate with the paper side to show face down on the cut up plate so the little cut marks would show.  I inked up to make them stand out even more.  So....for added distressing do not throw out those cut marked plates.  Thought I would share!

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

Hang in There! HOPE You Can Cling To!

This card is for Hope You Can Cling To Challenge for Wanda Cullen's Hang In There Challenge taking place all month at SCS.   For Wanda's challenge we are to create a card that has something hanging. I chose to have my hearts dangle!

For my card I am using Verve's Always on My Mind, Believe, and Tag Time stamp sets. The inside hearts were die cut with Verve's Jotted Heart die.  I am using the VLV OCT2011 Week 2 Sketch.  I combined some Victoria Gardens designer papers.  I cut out a few of the words on one of the papers and added to the sentiment strip across the front along with a stamp word to create a fun sentiment strip.  I added some stitching, glitter card stock, gold memory thread, and gold pearls to finish my card.

As always thanks so much for stopping by!

A True Friend! Viva La Verve and MORE!

Happy Sunday!  I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!  I made this card for this week's Viva La Verve(VLVJUL2011) sketch challenge.   Maureen(aka Moe) is this week's sketch host.  Moe has designed a fun sketch for us!   It was fun to the different papers to add to the sketch.   I chose to use some of My Mind's Eye designer papers For A Girl.  I really tried to stay as close to the sketch as possible.  I did have to turn my rectangle element alittle since I made it an little envy with a tag inside.

I am using Verve's Hundred's HeartsText Objects, Sweet Scallop Tag, and New Mercies stamp sets.  I am also using Verve's Jotted Heart die, Sweet Scallop die, and Charming Oval dies(small oval for tiny tag).

Here is a close up of the pocket and the tag!  All pictures can be seen larger by clicking onto them.  I die cut the heart out of glitter cardstock.

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge(SNTODBD18) and More!

Welcome to Our Daily Bread Designs Stamping In Time: On Assignment Challenge (SNTODBD18)!   The assignment is ODBD stamps.   Cheryl Walker is our challenge host this time.  Cheryl is challenging us to ribbons and lace!  When you think of ribbon and lace you are not just limited to the fabrics.  If you have die cuts, punches, or even stamps that have a ribbon or lace look, name, or design, those can work, too.  However, you do have to use both!  We would love to see what you create using Our Daily Bread Design stamps!

For my card I am using ODBD Grow in Grace stamp set. I stamped the flower image and softly colored with some copic markers.  I added a scored framed.  I layered the focal image with the Spellbinder's square rectangle lace die cut which I converted to a rectangle.  I added a satin ribbon bow, a charm with a dove and cross, sizzix embossed panel, butterflies and silver pearls.  I added on the inside bottom right corner of my card one of the frames that come in this beautiful and newly released ODBD Brocade Border frame sets.  I am using Brocade Borders die cut set to cut out this amazingly intricate frame beautifully and fast.  I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to place the grace acronym that comes in this set in the center.   This card is also for a few other challenges as well.  I am using the colors from Color Throwdown #110.  Great colors, LeAnne!    Simon Says Challenge To "Move It".  What I gather is any object like a bird, car, or butterfly that moves can work...or an actual moving part on my card.  I have butterflies and the dove in the charm for my movement.  Gingerloft Challenge #1 is Anything Goes. Southern Girls Challenge #1 is Anything Goes!  The Creative Belli Challenge #100 is B embellishments!  I have a button and a bow!

Also, do not forget to check out the other ODBD designers to see what they created using ODBD stamps with ribbon and lace!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank You!

I SPY PTI!  My new goodies came in the mail yesterday and I finally had a chance to play with them!  After three week's in England my dh is finally home!  WooHoo!  So glad!  It was a very long three weeks for us all.   This is for SCS Feature Stamper(FS185) and SCS Queen for the Day(QFTD23) Challenges.  Heather, aka, Princessheather is honored not only with the QFTD but also Feature Stamper this week.  This is her card I chose to CASE.

Since the colors Heather used on her card are very similar to the Colour Q #46 this week, I thought I would play along in that color challenge!

I decided to combine a few blog challenges with this project.  That alone has become a challenge in itself.  To surf thru the blogs and pick different challenges and try to combine as many as I can on a card.  LOL!
TPE80 ribbon and sparkles.  The card uses glitter gel pen on the center of the flowers and the little treat tote uses gem flourishes.  The gift tote also complies with City Crafter Challenge(CCCB18) a girl on a card.  My silhouette of a girl reading  is tiny, but it is a girl!   This is also for Simon Says Challenge to make a gift, Stampin B's Challenge #72  to use a diecut, circle, and a flower. My diecut is the scalloped rectangle and sentiment, my circles are the buttons and polka dotted ribbon, and the fowers are the main image.  For Stamptacular Sunday Challenge 73 to Two's Better Than One, I created a card and gift ensemble and used two different focal image stamps!

As always, thanks so much for stopping by!

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC80) , CC284, and MORE!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC80)! Silke Ledlow is our challenge host. She is challenging us to a color scheme! This one is not only easy and fun, but the colors are sure to make a beauty. Simply make a card using the four colors of hot pink, soft yellow, kraft, and black that are listed in the picture and link it here! While Flourishes stamps are not required, if you have them by all mean use them! We would love to see what you create!

For my card I am using Flourishes Nasturtiums and Falling Leaves stamp sets.  I decided to make a round card.  I used my CM cutting tool to cut out a 4.5 circle.  I can hardly wait to get my hands on some of the Spellbinder's Grands!  Anyway, I used two patterns of some Basic Grey kraft collection.  I divided the circle with some black braid trimming.  I used a sizzix shape for the main sentiment and a punch for the second sentiment.  I shadow stamped the main sentiment first with black ink then with hot pink.   I added a decorative pearl flourish to the main sentiment. I also created a trifold back for it to be a free standing circle card!   I lightly sponged the edges of both sentiments and the kraft cardstock with Memento sand ink.  This card is for the following challenges:

BasicGrey Challenge: Week #26 BasicGrey and Pearls
The Shabby Tea Rooms Week #23 Inspiration Challenge (Both cards apply- picture at left)

This card is for today's SCS Color Combo Challenge(CC284)!  Always Cherry Pink!  Check out the the link to find out about the dessert option!  This card is also using the Midnight Madness Sketch (MMSC67)! Fabulous sketch!  For this card I am using Flourishes Dove and Holly stamp set.  I am also using Champagne net ribbon with gold wire bow and curly ques.  If you have not tried this net ribbon before you really should check it out!  Amazing stuff!

As always thanks so much for stopping by!  I do apologize for the long post, but it is the first cards I have posted  to my blog in a week!

Check out the other blog team designers to see what they created with the sketch!

Hats OFF "Thank You!"

Can you say...OVER the TOP Thank You?  LOL!  Today's SCS Inspiration Challenge(IC226) is William Chamber's hats.    Here is the hat that I chose for my inspiration!
Some  of the hats were more calm than others, but let's just say...some had the feathers flying! This card ended up being way bolder than I intended.  Truth be told,  the card just took on a life all its own during construction.  It is WAY too big for an envy.  May need to hand deliver this one or wrap it! Hee!

This card is also for today's C4Challenges(C4C31)!  We are to use kraft cardstock as our card base.  Heavily sponged mine, of course!

For my card I am using the Spellbinder's Dahlia die cut.  I cut it out three times and embossed with kaleidescope embossing powder.  I love the patina of this embossing powder on the black.  I crushed a bit and layered with gold paper flowers which I thought were reminiscent of the warm tones in the photo.  I added a piece of ribbon that was black and white to look like the tiny feathers.  I added a layered spellbinders doodle and sentiment.  I finished with a few gold pearls.  Two of the background panels are embossed.  All panels are heavily sponged with PTI spring moss, Ranger scattered straw and some light touches of crushed cordoroy.  I did add a MS border punch at the bottom to mimic the points of the dotted background and dahlia die cut points.

Tim Holtz Rocks! Easter Song!

This card is for this week's Queen for a Day Game!  The Queen for the week is Pat Smethers. Here is her card I chose to CASE.

I am using ODBD The Lord Has Risen! I am using Tim Holtz new combo die cut(woohoo) and Basicgray Kioshi. I really think this Kioshi dp is some of the prettiest paper. It just screams spring.

Moments....

This is for yesterday's SCS Color Challenge(CC238)! We are to use pretty in pink, going gray, and sage shadow. I do not have any going gray so I substitued smokey shadow cardstock.

I am using a new release by Flourishes called Falling Leaves. I used the quote in the set.

This card is also for Mercy's sketch challenge(MTSC41)! Great sketch. I converted the size to my standard 5.5 square.

I did make a funky flower thingy using a flower punch. I added some Nouveau Chic dp and some retired pretty in pink dsp. I layered a MS border punch. I decided I like this punch layered better than alone as I have had it for quite awhile and rarely use it.

**** Shipping Note **** I do want to add that, since I normally make 5.5 squared cards, I get charged $.60 to ship just because it is not a standard envy. So, if I am going to be charged the amount anyway, I may as well add some layers. Shipping is usually $1.00 per card sometimes alittle more.

Pure in Heart...

This card is for sketch challenge(SC241)! Thanks, Roxie!!!

I bought some new dp the other day when I was at Micheal's. This is My Mind's Eye Complete Boy paper pad. I almost did not look at it since it was gender specific. I am glad I did because there are a lot of great patterns in there. I think they should have called it something else, though...lol!!!

I am using ODBD newly release Jesus set as well as one of my favorite ODBD sets called Christian Symbols. I stamped my cross and scripture with scarlet jewel and rocked and rolled some dark chocolate ink around the edges. I lightly sponged the sentiment and cross panel with Ranger antique linen ink. I finished my card with some gold pearls, flowers, and sizzix swirls.

Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC18)! This week Kimberly Crawford is hosting the challenge. She is challenging us to use frames. Now, frames can be something as simple as adding a matt to the main image to "frame" it out, or adding some marker detailing around the main image to create a doodle frame or faux layered frame. In addition to these, you can create your own frames with spellbinder diecut shapes using different materials. There are also ready made frames that you may have to add to your card. Whichever type of frame you choose, we would love to see what you create!!!

This card is also for Sunday's Feature Stamper Challenge(FS121)! Congratulations, Roxie!!! I love your creations and it was hard to choose one to case. I chose this card. I changed the colors, the images, and altered the layout slightly to accomodate my larger image. I kept the embellishments the same, the black card base, and the trio of flowers and theme the same.

I am using the Nasturtiums stamp set. I LOVE this set. I used the largest image for my card. I stamped my image with Palette Noir ink and colored it with copics. I just love this flower set. There are so many wonderful images in the set. You really get a lot of wow for the money. For the "frame it" challenge, I added a repeated loopy die cut around my rectangle frame to create a light feeling frame. I love how it turned out.

I am also hosting the Color Challenge at SCS(CC221)! It is Kiss and Ride Tango! All in honor of the 2008/09 In Colors which will retire in a few weeks.

For this card, I am using the Flourishes Vintage Wallpaper, Thinking of You,and, Timeless Quotes stamp sets. For part of the Flourishes Timeless Tuesday "Frame It" Challenge, I used the frame image from the Thinking of You set to frame my quote. I stamped the Vintage Wallpaper background in riding hood red. I added a punch border, gold pearls, and some prima and hero arts flowers to finish the card.

Bless the Nation!

This card is for this month's Devine Design Bible Verse Challenge! I am using newly release sets by ODBD called God Bless America and In God We Trust. I am also using one of my ODBD favorites called The Cross of Christ. I am using some memory box dp and ranger ink. I use the top note die cut to cut a shape into some scripted font dp from Scenic Route. I stamped the American flag image on this dp using Ranger antique linen ink. I did the same image and color on the scripture oval. I stamped the eagle in some Palette dark chocolate just in the corner. I stamped the Cross in the left corner. I finished my card with some layered flowers and a flourish shape. Can you guess which flourish shape I used behind the flower? It is a little tricky. I finished my card with some layered prima flowers and gold domes.

Just Because!

This card is for today's sketch challenge at SCS (SC227). Thanks so much Roxie for another fabulous sketch!!! Roxie gave us an option as to what to do with the oval on the sketch. I chose to make mine bigger to fit this wonderful quote by George Washington.

I am using ODBD God Bless America set. I chose an interesting color combo for me. I combined deep gray, yellow, and vanilla for this card. I love how it turned out. I am also using some basicgray dp on one of the panels. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the horizontal layer. I used a Fiskars border punch for the vertical layer. I also colored the flourished die cuts with some coal shimmerz. I love this little pop of sheen. The shimmerz dries fast, too, which is very good for me.

ODBD Release Day!!!!! Children of God!

This card is for today's Sketch Challenge (SC222). Thanks, Roxie for a great sketch!!!! I am also showcasing one of ODBD new releases this month called Children of God.

For my card I am using some
basicgrey Eva dp. I layered the top note with the mega curved rectangle. I finished my card with some gold pearl domes, ribbon, cording, and a button.

I colored the image of Jesus with the children in copics and cut out. I used foam dots to create some dimension. I have a corner clear stamp that I used to stamp a solid leafy image around the scripture.

From ATC to CARD!!!!

A few weeks ago, I did an ATC for a SCS challenge. I am having some computer issues the past few days so I cannot add the link at the moment. Below is the ATC I did and you can find it in my SCS gallery. Well, actually, I did the oversized ATC using the top note die for the size. My excuse for enlarging the ATC was that most of my cards are 5.5" or 6" squared. So, the regular sized ATC gets lost. This top note ATC is the perfect size for my size cards.

I wanted to used my oversized ATC for a card. For this ATC to card, I used some Kiwi Kiss, PTI dark chocolate and PTI dp for the base. I just added the top note ATC to finish the card. Now, a part of me wants to add something above and below the ATC to create some balance, but for the sake of ATC to CARD....I am leaving it alone. I would like to thank Lesley(marleygo) for sending me some stamped images for me to color.

Hopefully, I can get my computer issues straightened out soon. As always, thanks so much for stopping by!!!!
