New York State of Mind @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's continuing to have Billy Joel songs inspire the theme with this week being "New York State of Mind" which just means she would like to see those creations with urban scenes, or skylines or even travel.

This is what I did....

I used some building dies (which I think are from Taylored Expressions) and a freebie from Create with TLC to make this scene.

Happy Earth Day! @ Little Red Wagon

it's Brenda's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Happy Earth Day!" and would like to celebrate by seeing your projects with reused or recycled items.

This is what I did.....

I always keep those store-bought cards that I like or find interesting that are given to me for Christmas.  So, this is what the original card looked like.....

As you can see, I ripped out it's insides and then mounted it on some patterned paper. I did keep what I didn't use....pretty sure I'll be using those elements at some point.  Added a sentiment from My Favorite Things and heat embossed with white embossing powder and that was that.

That Song @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm continuing to showcase some of my favourite Canadian songs with this week being, "That Song" which means I want to see those projects inspired by or about a song.

This is what I did....

I think you can guess which song inspired me.  Image is from the Homespun Holiday stamp set from Ellen Hutson.

Now a bit about "That Song"......first, can I just say that when the song was released in 1998, obviously Big Wreck had no idea there would be a future where people could say "Hey [insert your Smart Speaker here] play 'That Song' by Big Wreck." because the speaker can't hear the fact that "That Song" is capitalized and is the actual name of a song and you're not just asking to hear a song by Big Wreck that you can't remember the name of.  Luckily enough, my Alexa usually plays "That Song" when I ask for it but instead of saying the usual "Playing 'That Song' by Big Wreck" it says "Here is a song I found by Big Wreck".  

"That Song" reached number 31 on Canada's singles chart and between 1995 and 2016, it was the most played song by a Canadian artist on rock radio stations in Canada....which is a tiny perplexing bit  of information seeing as the song was recorded in 1996 and released in 1998.  So.....??  Anyhoo, it's a song about nostalgia....and the drums go harder on it than necessary (at least in my no musical knowledge whatsoever opinion)  but in the best way possible.  Give it a listen....I recommend listening to the song however you consume music instead of going to YouTube because the song quality on the official video (which doesn't do the song justice, imo) is not great.

Easter Projects! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Chrissy's turn to choose the challenge and she wants to see those projects you made for Easter.  Confession.....I totally cheated.  LRW is a papercraft challenge blog and I went and made.....

crocheted bunnies.  So, no paper involved.  My middlest and his girlfriend bought a house and moved in over Easter weekend.  I figured that with everything they needed to purchase and do, it wouldn't even cross their minds to have any Easter decor bought or up so I made them these bunnies so they'd have a lil something. ♥
