Easter Projects! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Chrissy's turn to choose the challenge and she wants to see those projects you made for Easter.  Confession.....I totally cheated.  LRW is a papercraft challenge blog and I went and made.....

crocheted bunnies.  So, no paper involved.  My middlest and his girlfriend bought a house and moved in over Easter weekend.  I figured that with everything they needed to purchase and do, it wouldn't even cross their minds to have any Easter decor bought or up so I made them these bunnies so they'd have a lil something. ♥

Why not give our challenge a go this week and join us?  And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.

To Boldly Go! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

I'm up as the host and I'm saying, "To Boldly Go!" which means that I want to see bold or bright colours on your project.

This is what I did.....

I don't think it's much of a secret that I prefer bold and bright over soft and demure.  I don't think demure would pair well with this digi (from Poppy Lane Digital, whose Etsy shop is currently closed ): ) anyway.  Especially not with that expression on her face.  Pretty sure that's how I looked when I was frantically trying to get a Mediterranean themed crochet throw finished in time for our (fundraising) Gala's Silent Auction.  Our volunteers kept laughing at me when I was saying, "It'll be here on Friday.....well, for sure on Saturday" (the day of Gala)....

This is a photo of the arena lobby (the "warm part"- yep an arena where hockey, ringette, figure skating, ball hockey etc is played).  It's hard to convey the elegance of our Gala without drowning you in photos, so you'll have to take my word for it.  (:  Well, that and the fact that it raises over $230,000 for equipment for our hospital. ♥

Why not give our challenge a go this week and join us?  And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.

Show Us Your Eggs! @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's Chrissy's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Show Us Your Eggs!" which means she wants to see those Easter projects.

Okay, my friends, I have a confession to make.  I broke-ed the rules big time this week.  As you know, Little Red Wagon isn't just a card challenge (even though us Girlfriends usually choose to make a card), other creations are very welcome, including tags, scrapbook layouts, pocket pages, journalling, altered items....so, as I like to say....any papercraft goes.  Papercraft being the operative word here.  Buuuuuut, I didn't actually make any Easter projects.  'Round here Easter is more about the food and chocolate.  (I know chocolate is indeed a food but I think it definitely deserves its own mention).

I didn't want to skip this week's challenge though.  So, I've decided to show what I did make that was Easter related.  And, I did actually make it for this challenge.  And, as you probably have already guessed, it's not a papercraft.  It's.....

an amigurumi (crochet) bunny.  Yeah, so, welcome to my newest obsession hobby - crochet.  More specifically, amigurumi.  More more specifically, amigurumi with blanket yarn.  Because I really needed another hobby that takes sooooooo much time to produce the finished product, where most people don't really appreciate the effort, and you can buy a mass-produced version at a dollar store for almost nothing (especially looking at you, cards, for that last one).  But, I really enjoy the process, so....well.....there.  And really, isn't that what hobbies are mostly about?

So, that's the confession I had to make.  Oh, wait.  Since I'm on the topic of confessions, I have another one.  I feel it's not something a lot of people will generally take part in.  Here goes......this morning I ate leftover birthday (not mine) cake for breakfast.  Yep, I sure did.  And, you know what?  I'm not even sorry!  Hahahahaha!  *runs away laughing to both escape and try to work off some of those cake calories*

*peeks back in*  Why not give our challenge a go this week and join us?  And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.
