Glitz, Glitter, Gleam, Glow! @ Little Red Wagon

  This week at

it's my turn to choose the challenge and I'm saying, "Glitz, Glitter, Gleam & Glow!" which just means that I want to see those projects that have glitter or foiling or bling or have lights/lamps/candles etc. or even a make that's just really ritzy.  Lots of options there!

Now, this would be the perfect theme for which to make a Christmas creation, right?  Welp, I did something different.....

.....a wedding card!  As you can see, I've got patterned paper with a foiled design, a couple of glittery hearts, and a Stickles-over-fun-foam ampersand.  I also employed a (successful, imo) trick to hide the fact that I did not have quiiiite enough of that patterned paper to cover my whole card front.  Just added some black cardstock to the back of the one piece to make it just that little bit bigger.  And, it looks like I was being oh so fancy with my background.

Image is from Tiddly Inks.  This is a big go-to of mine for wedding cards.  I was considering trying to colour pleats into the dress, but I've never really been that good at that, so I just left the dress as is.  Figured a little bland is a much better look than glaringly wrong.  Ha, that could be my life motto.  (:

So, why not give our challenge a go this week and join us?  And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.

Let's Eat! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's Doni's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Let's Eat!" (something you've never had to tell me twice) which means she'd like to see edibles (had to *wink*) on your project.

This is what I did.....

...I made a big ole doughnut card!  And yes, I'm calling it a doughnut card, even though the digis (doughnut from Tiddly Inks and sentiment from Create With TLC) use the spelling donut.  Because, if you're outside the USA (which I am), they are doughnuts, not donuts.  Unless you're referring to the Tim Hortons variety.  Then they're just called "F@#k, why did I waste calories on this?".

:)

Flower Power! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's Chrissy's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Flower Power!" which means that she wants to see flowers on your project.

I don't know why I always have a hard time with flower challenges.  There's lots of times I've used flowers on a card.....and in all kinds of different ways too.  For some reason though, when I haaaaaave to make something featuring flowers, it's a struggle.  Buuuuut, I think this time, I might've got there in the end.....

Not what I originally set out to do, but I think I've got the flower theme covered.

When I went spelunking in my Christmas stamps & dies drawer I came across a set of dies from Honey Bee Stamps.  I believe they were purchased some time ago with a gift certificate I had won.  I couldn't believe I had never used them before....that is until I cut out that very skinny Christmas.  It looks great but it is quite fiddly.  Flower die is from Your Next Stamp.

Remember when tulle was (briefly) popular for cards?  I still do love it.....mostly because it ties a perfect bow every time.  The problem with tulle though is you ain't getting it inside an envelope.  I once bought some lovely clear card boxes for the express purpose of being able to mail cards such as these.  I only mailed one.  It cost almost $20!!  I could have drove to the place the card was going for less than that.  (To note, that was about four years ago.  You know, back when gas prices weren't outrageous.)  Yeah, so keep your tulle limited for those hand delivered makes.

Winter Project! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's Imke's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying she wants to see a winter project.  Lots of stuff you could do with that theme!

This is what I did....

Doesn't get much more winter than snow/snowflakes.  Though black snow would be quite disconcerting irl.  Actually, snowflakes that big would also be cause for concern.  Especially if they had buttons in the middle of them.

So, why not give our challenge a go this week and join us?  And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.

Yesterday! @ Little Red Wagon

 This week at

it's Kate's turn to choose the challenge and she's continuing on with her Beatles theme and she's saying, "Yesterday!" which just means that she wants to see those creations that have a vintage feel or include vintage elements.

Ah, yesterday.  At the time of writing this post, yesterday was Oct. 31st, which was Halloween.  And, as everybody knows, those little chocolate bars and small bags of chips do not contain any calories if eaten on Halloween.  So, I, of course, tried to eat as many of them as I could, you know, because going by the logic in the previous sentence, they are much healthier for you when consumed on Halloween.  Admittedly, that's not to say I haven't eaten any leftover Halloween treats today, because, I, of course, have.  The difference being is that I feel slightly more guilty indulging today, than I did yesterday.  Hence the beginning of this sentence, 'Ah yesterday'.

But, you didn't come here to see me wax poetic about yesterday, you came to see my vintage project.  Though, I will say now, that if I had realized that this card would be posted just after Halloween, I might have went with something else because.....

.....having that sentiment staring at you as you unwrap a mini Coffee Crisp just kinda hits differently, ya know?
