This week at
it's Chrissy's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying "Make It Masculine!" which means she wants to see those makes for or about men/boys. One of my favourite challenges!
This is what I did.....
I had a little trouble this weekend with my crafting. I had multiple attempts get tossed aside in various stages of failure. This one here came out of nowhere. In fact, go ahead and ask me how it came about.
*listens patiently*
How did this card come about? Yes, well, thank you for asking. This particular card came about because I was too lazy to put a new ink cartridge in my printer. The ink cartridge was in the drawer. The drawer right under my printer. So, therefore I could not print out the digi I already had ready in Word to print out. I was also too lazy to stand up to reach my Misti so I could stamp a sentiment onto that piece of patterned paper. But, I did have some ancient rub ons within reach. Go ahead and ask why I had ancient Christmas rub ons within reach.
*listens patiently*
Why did I have ancient Christmas rub ons within reach? Yes, well, thank you for asking. I had them within reach because I was too lazy to put them away. Because it's June. And it made much more sense to use said ancient rub ons, and have to rub them for a good ten minutes to get them to stick. Go ahead and ask why I said them instead of it.
*listens patiently*
Why did I say them instead of it? Yes, well, thank you for asking. I said them because I had to do it twice because I didn't tape down the first rub on and it shifted and messed itself up. Good thing about rub ons though is that you can basically erase them like they are pencil, so I didn't have to waste the already prepared patterned paper. I just had to take waaaaaay longer than it would have to simply stamped the sentiment. Go ahead and ask me if it was all worth it in the end.
*listens patiently*
Was it worth it in the end? Well, that's kind of a rude question, isn't it? hahahahahahaha Kidding, of course! Actually, it was worth it. I quite like how it turned out. And it is fun to take a foray back into the days of yore when I first started crafting, and didn't use stamps at all. 'Course, I didn't use dies back then either, but I certainly don't want to be too true to my early card attempts coz *retching noises*.
Why not give our challenge at go this week and join us? And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the
Girlfriends have made.
