CASEing Bree

I love being a Design Team Member for the Stampin' Stylin' Inkspiration blog.  Our team is chock full of super talented stampers.  So when the time came for us to CASE each other, I knew I had to participate in that!  CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything.  It can be recreating an exact card that someone made or just pulling a few elements from it, the colors, the theme, the sketch, etc.  I CASE'd a card from Bree.  I pinned it awhile ago and knew it would be a great card to CASE.

Here is my version:

Instead of the masculine Congrats card, I made a floral and feminine Birthday card.  I love the simple elements of this card with the special touches.  I just layered three circle, but did you spot the stitching on the circles?  The Happy is cut from the Sweet Sugarplum Glimmer paper but is also stamped in the background.  I also added some splotches for some texture and there is a bit of shine with the silver thread looped behind.  For a complete supply list, check out below.  For more CASE'd cards, head over to SSI!

CASE the Occasions Catalog - Swan Lake

Now the fabulous Occasions Catalog has been live for a few days now, you have had lots of time to pour over all the fabulous new products.  But have you really looked at all the amazing samples?  Aside from great products, Stampin' Up! has given us tons of inspiration in these catalogs.  The projects in there are super CASE-worthy (Copy And Share Everything)!  When you are CASEing you don't have to replicate a product...sometimes you just use the same colors or layout or technique.
Today at SSI we are CASEing from the Occasions catalog.  Here is a picture of the sample I am CASEing first, it can be found on page 53 of the Occasions Catalog:

I received the Swan Lake stamp set at a Stampin' Up! I attended.  I was happy to win it since it was something I probably would not have bought myself.  I love so many things that they did with the little mini-treat bag so I decided to turn that into a card:

I took some Shimmery White and stamped the swan and the the other images with the Basic Black Archival Ink.  Then I grabbed my blender pens and watercolored.  I really liked the Pool Party with the Sweet Sugarplum in the catalog sample and added a Wild Wasabi card base.  I also loved the simple bow by the sentiment in the sample so I made sure to have one as well.  As you can see I didn't recreate the card in the catalog, but I definitely used it as a springboard to create my own card.

CASE the Jars

The Holiday Catalog is chock full of CASE-worthy projects.  And as much as I want to say that all of my creations are complete Jenny G Originals, sometimes I need a little kick int he creative butt.  And that is why we CASE.  Today we are CASEing over at SSI.  Here is the card I am going to CASE:

I CASEd the Jar shaker card.  Here is my version:

I definitely swayed a bit from the catalog sample.  I used a very different color combo of Sweet Sugarplum and Mint Macaron with touches of silver.  Next time I need to be a little more aggressive with the inside of my shaker card.  I used the Frosted Sequins, which are easily overlooked in the Holiday Catalog, but are a MUST HAVE!  I also filled the jar with some glitter.  And instead of stamping on the "Merry" I used my Big Shot and cut it out in Silver Foil.  It might be hard to see, but the Sweet Sugarplum background is embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder.  Here is the inside:

I love the sentiment...so cute!  And I had to include that cute little snowman!  For a complete supply lisy, check out below.  Head over to SSI for more Holiday Catalog CASEs.

November Blog Hop - CASE a Design Team Member

Hello and welcome to the November Blog Hop!  Today imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and we are CASE-ing each other.  This was tough to do because we have such an amazing group of talented designers that are a great INKspiration for me!  It will be so cool to see how we all re-interpert each other projects.

As you hop along, please be sure to comment and show some love on every blog! We are always excited to hear from our followers! You should have just left stop number 4 on the Stylin' Stampin' INKspiration Blog Hop - Darcy at DJ's Stampin' Place. If so, you are in the right spot. If a link doesn't work or you get off track, you will find the full blog hop lineup below.

I decided to CASE a Halloween card that Tobe made.  Be sure to check out her card.  Here is mine:

I love the idea of the jars dumping out the spiders that Tobe did, so I decided to tweek it for Christmas.  I don't own the Jars stamps and framelits, but I had a chance to use them when I went away at a scrapbooking retreat.  The Candy Cane Lane DSP was perfect for this card.  I like the strip of Red Glimmer Paper down the center.

I can't wait to see what Tobe has done at The Craft Sea.
