More Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week

Happy Tuesday! Our summer days are fleeting. The kids are going back to school next week, and I'm both excited and sad. So bittersweet. My youngest is going to first grade.

Sniff.

Speaking of the youngest, he "invented" this ridiculous face he calls "the buck-toothed puffer fish." WHY would the world need that? I don't know. But he does it. And his brothers think it's the funniest thing. Ever. He does it, they imitate it, all three laugh and laugh. During our recent trip to the East coast, I asked for a photo and that is what I got. Buck-toothed puffer fish. It obviously deserved a layout. But let me apologize ahead of time for the horror I'm exposing you to. I am sorry. I really am.

stamps: Lawn Fawn A Birdie Told Me (speech bubbles) + Check This Out (tiny numbers) / patterned paper: Lawn Fawn Words Per Minute + 6"x6" pad / ink: Clearsnap Colobox Classic Pigment / typewriter, sewing machine

Puffer fish aside, don't forget to go by Lawn Fawn's blog and leave lots of comments to win. There's a giveaway every single day of the Inspiration Week. Then there's the giant giveaway for humongous prizes. Go! Comment! Do it!

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week!

This is that happy week in which Lawn Fawn debuts its new stamps AND gives away huge amounts of stamps, papers, stickers!

My layout today uses the new Dewey Decimal paper line. If you like school/office/fall, you will love this one! The patterns are adorable, and the matching stamp set is one I'll be using for a long time.

patterned paper: Lawn Fawn Dewey Decimal Checked Out + Bookworm / 6"x6" paper pack: Lawn Fawn Dewey Decimal / alpha stickers: Lawn Fawn Narrators Elf Green + Acorn Brown / punches: Stampin' Up,  Marvy / die cut system: Silhouette Cameo / font: Mission Script / typewriter

Fall is my favorite time of the year. A lot of it has to do with cooler weather, leaves changing colors, wearing sweaters and boots. But Los Angeles is actually at its warmest during Fall. Go figure, right? But that aside, nothing much is different. We still celebrate all the same holidays, cook the same traditional dishes everyone expects, and get dressed up for Halloween. So all is good. For leaf peeping, I'll have to stalk my Northeast friends on Instagram. You know who you are. So don't forget to share those photos!

Thanks for dropping by today. Don't forget to go by Lawn Fawn and leave a comment to win one of the many prizes! See you tomorrow for a closer look at my other Inspiration Week layout.

Creating Keepsakes Giveaway

Happy Monday! I'm just back from a long vacation to the East Coast. Two weeks away is amazing, but now I'm on major catchup mode. School supplies to buy, house to clean and organize, kids to get back into a "normal" sleep schedule, projects to create. That said, there's nothing like a new issue of Creating Keepsakes arriving in my mailbox. It means it's time to stop what I'm doing and flip through it! This is one of my favorites. It's the annual Top Ten issue. So full of ideas, tips, and inspiration.

I have a layout in there with ten different ways to add stitching/thread to your layout. You can see all ten here.

I also love this cover. So Fall, which by the way, I'm totally ready to embrace. Problem is that here in Los Angeles, Fall is the hottest time of the year. I might need another visit back East to wear my sweaters and boots...

This issue is available starting today. But you can win one by leaving me a comment telling me which is your favorite season. I'll randomly pick a winner and post it on Friday, August 17.

Thanks for dropping by today!

Jenni Bowlin Kit Guest

I'm sure you know who Jenni Bowlin is. And I'm pretty sure you know that she has a most amazing monthly kit. Well, they kindly asked me to guest design for them this month, and of course I said yes!

One of my favorite things in the kit was the Jenni Bowlin stamps. I know, I know, you aren't surprised, since I'm such a big stamp collector user. I paired it with my favorite photo taken during my holiday to Palm Spring, and the polka dot paper that came in my box. And as it turns out, Jenni's dot alpha was the perfect size to pair with the stamp.
