Operation We R Grateful - Challenge #1

Operation We R Grateful - Challenge #1

Thinking of You

Ok.  So this is my last post of the day.  I have to say, this is the most I have ever posted in one day!  Whew!  Well, I did challenge #1 last, which is a Thinking of You card.  I used Gypsy Wanderings for the sentiment and I used PTI & Stampin Up cardstock/ribbon.  The little flower is from Imagine Better Together.  I did add a little i-Rock bling for the flowers.  I hope it is ok.  I guess I just could not make it through the whole day without ANY bling...lol

Well, I hope you Kassidy over at Inking it Up likes the cards that I made.  I will be sending them out to her in the mail tomorrow.  It feels good knowing that these cards are going to a good cause.  I can't tell you how many cards I have sitting in a box.  Knowing that this will hopefully brighten someone's day makes me feel Awesome!

Please click here to participate in this challenge!  It is definitely a worthwhile cause!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Operation We Are Grateful - Challenge #2

Happy Birthday

I have decided to participate in Operation We Are Grateful over at Inking it Up with Kassidy.  This is where we make cards for our troops to show them they are appreciated.  There are seven challenges in total.  This is the first card that I have completed!  Challenge #2 - Birthday.

I would have loved to bling my card up a bit, but it is requested that you not use glitter products as it does not hold up well during the travel to our troops.  I did use a little glimmer mist just to add a little sparkle.

Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge

Hey Everyone,

I decided to enter Emma's Throwback Thursday Challenge this week using Doodlecharms cart and the color blue.  She is giving an entire set of her next stamp release, which I would LOVE to win!  You know her stamps are awesome!  I was finally able to order a set (Mom Rocks) a couple weeks ago and I must say that they are awesome!  Also, the stamps shipped out the same day I ordered them and I got them within a couple days! Love, love, love great service...it's worth it's weight in gold!

Anyway, here is my project.  My family has been invited to a housewarming party for a friend that has just bought a new house.  I thought this card would be perfect for them.  I used my gypsy to weld the image to create the shaped card from Doodlecharms.  I then used Plantin Schoolbook to cut the blue glittered letters/numbers for the card.  I used my computer to type a simple sentiment and used the blue glitter cardstock as the background.  I think they will like the card.  Let me know what you think!

MPS - Challenge #11

Hi Everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day!  Mine was pretty uneventful, which was Perfect for me.  I spent it with my daughter and my mother.  We had a nice relaxing day and an awesome dinner in the evening.  It was great.

Anyway, here is the card I made for Challenge #11 over at MPS -

Challenge #11--Make a project and use Pink, Green and Black in it!

Again, the flower is from Mother's Day Bouquet.  Cardstock is from Stampin Up (except Pink is PTI).  I used my favorite cuttlebug folder - Textured Textiles.  I love what it adds to my projects...only thing missing is my other favorite...stickles.  I may have to go back and add some tonight before I send it out.  Yes...I am sending some Mother's Day cards out a little late. :(  I guess better late than never, right???

Let me know what you think!

First E2 Card - Birthday Card & Weekly Circle Challenge

I made this card Saturday night using my new E2...woo hoo!!!  Ok, first of all let me tell you that I think I am in love!  No seriously, I do think I am really going to enjoy this machine.  There is definitely a learning curve, considering I just took it out of the box and started using it.  I think having the Imagine helps some but there were a lot of icons that I did not know how to use and things that I wanted to do that I could not quite figure out.  I was able to complete my project but I know once I read the manual and watch a few tutorials, things will go much faster.  Just a matter of learning what the different icons are for.

Ok, so I used two of the preloaded carts - Just A Note and American American Alphabet.  I cut the trifold card from Just A Note at 5 1/2".  I then created my own layers for the inside.  I added a little hand detail with the stitches and of course, blinged it up with Stickles....

I am also entering this card in the Circle Weekly Challenge which is to use "your creative Gift Card and Money Holder ideas. Using your Cricut create a gift card or money holder."

I have quickly scanned through the new cart booklets and I really like these carts.  I will keep you guys posted as I play a little more.  If you have an E2, leave me a comment letting me know so I can definitely check out what your doing with your E2 as well.

Would love to hear what you think, so leave me a comment.

Happy Monday....

Nicole T.

MPS Challenge - Spring

Hi Everyone,

Today's post is my entry for the MPS challenge for something Spring related.  Please make sure you go to Robyn's blog as Friday was her design team's Pinkalicious blog hop!

Anyway, here is the card that I made.  I finally updated my Imagine to work with my gypsy, so I am going to try to finally start using it more.  Today's card was made with Lori's Garden.  The sentiment is from My Pink Stamper.  It is a simple card but I like how it turned out.  I love the little birdie!

Edited to say:  Not sure why my colors are off, but I used PTI Spring Rain for the card base and Kiwi Kiss for the layer.  It looks yellow on my computer but it is actually a soft green.  I will try to take another photo tomorrow during the day.

Thanks for stopping by!

Nicole

P.S.  Don't forget to Spring Forward tonight!!  :)

My Pink Stamper Challenge/DT Submission

Hey Everyone,

Robyn over at My Pink Stamper is having a challenge and two openings on her design team.  I have decided to participate.  I love Robyn and she has been so instrumental in my exploration of my creativity over the last year!  I never really considered myself as a very creative person, so this has been quite an interesting journey.  Especially as I am not good with colors....  I still doubt my creativity but I am working on it. ;)

I had my Cricut for almost a year before I used it.  I bought it so that I could scrapbook my daughter.  I recently moved back to Atlanta and was looking forward to checking out the local scrapbooking store only to discover it was gone.  So I went to the next best thing....Michaels (lol) in search of some help/classes to learn how to use my Cricut.  No such luck....however, I did run into this nice woman in the Cricut aisle and struck up a conversation with her.  I figured she may be able to help me figure what cartridges to start out with or where to begin.  She gave me one piece of advice that has led me on this creative journey... "Go online to My Pink Stamper and you will find everything you need to know."  Lucky for me, I still remembered the name by the time I got home.  With a little searching, I found Robyn and her many video tutorials.  That was the beginning.....

This past year has been a bit rough for me emotionally with going through a separation/divorce, now being a single parent to a toddler all while being unemployed for the past year plus.  It has been quite challenging.  However, being able to focus my attention on learning how to create paper crafts has been such a pleasant distraction and allowed me to find a positive release.  I am so thankful to Robyn and all of you fellow crafters/bloggers out there.  You have all been truly inspiring during one my darkest times and I Thank You All!!

Anyway, enough of my blubbering....  Here is my submission to the challenge and design team.  Good luck to all of you who are entering.....Nicole T.

The challenge was to use your favorite cartridge and use Robyn's favorite colors: pink, brown and green and another color of your choice.  I do not have one favorite cartridge at this point, so I decided to use one of my new carts that I have not used.  I chose Twinkle Toes.  I bought this cart to scrapbook my daughter.  She walks on her toes and so I decided to put her in ballet and gymnastics.  She loves both!  I just know I am going to be able to use this cart a lot.  I learned how to make cards from Robyn and I can't wait to see her DVD tutorial for scrapbooking...as that was the whole reason I bought my Cricut. (lol - I have only made one scrapbook page and that was recently for a Cricut challenge)  I get overwhelmed at the thought of it.  I digress again....

Here is the recipe...
Twinkle Toes Cart - dancer cut at 3.75" (Rasberry Fizz, Sweet Blush, True Black)
Dancers Skirt & Bow - Stampin Up Old Olive Cardstock (reverse d'Vine Swirl Cuttlebug)
Stampin Up Cardstock - Kiwi Kiss 4.25"x5.5"
PTI Cardstock -  Rasberry Fizz Cut @ 4"x5.25"
Recollections Cardstock - Brown Cut @ 3.75" x 5" (Textile Texture Cuttlebug)
Paper Stuido Bling - Pink, Diamond, Green
Paper Studio Heart Shape Brads
Miscellaneous Ribbon from Michaels(?)
Sentiment - MPS - Punnylicious (Rasberry Fizz & Melon Berry Cardstock)
Tim Holtz Distresser
Stampin Up - Basic Brown Ink
Cotton Candy Stickles

MPS Challenge - Christmas Theme Card

Hey Everyone!

Are you done with all your Christmas shopping, decorating, card making, etc.?  I am pretty much done with my shopping, just a little more to do.  However, I have not sent out any of my Christmas cards yet!  Can you believe it?!  So typical for me...but I am going to send them all out tomorrow.  Here is a card that I made for my stepdaughter and my mother in law.  They both love Hello Kitty!  Can you believe I did not use Stickles on this card....that's probably why I can't get past the fact that it looks like something is missing from this card.  It needs something.... Oh well, I probably will add something more to it before I send it out.  We shall see...lol

Thanks for stopping by.  Let me know what you think....
