Lacy Wedding Card

Weddings, *sigh* I think, if I could, I would get remarried to my husband over and over just to be able to wear lots of different dresses and plan beautiful weddings just like the ones I drool over on Pinterest! A lovely colleague a work got married the other weekend and I had inquired on the scheme 'lace, pink and mint', how fortuitous that I love that whole combination!

Patterned paper - MME, Cardstock - American Crafts. Cut files - Silhouette America

Once again my trusty silhouette got a work out, the background is cut using 'Grandma's Tablecloth' and the sentiment is 'Mr & Mrs Love Birds', I simply used the offset feature to make a background mat from the same paper I used on the background. I hope the Bride and Groom liked it!

Here's a colour palette on Pinterest that helped inspire me.

I love this combination, if you missed my previous post, you can see my mint and pink Mother's Day card here.

Thanks for reading,
Ang.

The clocks have gone back...

and that spells disaster when photographing my cards. It's dark when I leave for work in the morning and it's dark when I get home so I am reduced to taking pictures with a daylight lamp, angle poise lamp and overhead light. Now, most people can make that combination work, me? I am so technically challenged that I just can't get it right. I have updated my blog hop post here with *marginally* better photos than before, however I need to figure out how to improve the quality of my photographs in winter!

Here are a couple of cards that I made recently for a submission call that didn't make the grade!

Lots of gold glitter (which got everywhere!) and my newest favourite sentiment set, Scrolling Script along with the Mat Stack 7 die. I had some left over pleated crepe ribbon from another project which I added for a bit of dimension, I like to think that this might be suitable for an older person's birthday.

I went simple with this card, adding texture with the polka dot embossing folder. I die cut an aperture in the card with Mat Stack 7 dies and mounted the sentiment on acetate to give it a floating look. I like how it looks like a silver ring with a big diamond, if I swap out the sentiment it might be nice for an engagement card.

On a later shift all this week which wreaks havoc with my crafting time, I hope to get started on some more Christmas projects this week.

How Time Flies.....

My goodness, I didn't realise that I hadn't written a blog post in a while, I had better correct that tout suite!

Here are a couple of cards that were rejected for a recent submission call, fortunately I also had a couple picked up :)

The pinwheels are made from vintage music paper and were sprinkled with perfect pearls and topped with gilded wooden stars.
Rosettes were made from vintage music paper using my silhouette, topped with vellum and glitter circles, gems and a handmade button.

I hope I can start to blog more regularly :)

Wedding Day - Caardvarks Challenge

I've decided to enter the Caardvarks challenge this month, and the prize? have your card featured in Cards magazine. I love Cards magazine, beautiful cards, pictures and inspiration.

The theme was 'Wedding'. I used a romantic feeling victorian 'With Love and Devotion' heart, my favourite K&Co buttons paper, MS punches, pearls, gems, tulle and ribbon. I really like it, it's a bit different from what I would normally have designed for a wedding, it did start out in varying shades of cream and white but needed the colour to avoid it looking washed out. I also used german glitter glass which gives a fabulous patina as it ages.

Hey, you never know what will happen but it doesn't hurt to try ;)
