wednesday stampers:at least one rubber stamp

Bij 'wednesday stampers' werd aangekondigd dat deze week hun laatste week is. Jaren heb ik genoten van de wekelijks uitdagingen en ondanks dat ik de laatste tijd bijna niet meer mee deed, was het altijd leuk even een bezoek aan het blog te brengen om te zien wat deez' en geen zoal hadden gemaakt.
Deze laatste keer kan ik niet voorbij laten gaan... een eenvoudige kaart, losjes geïnspireerd op het borduurwerk van Anna Torma.
At 'wednesday stampers' it's announced this week is their last challenge. I loved those weekly themes for many years and although not participating much lately I always enjoyed hopping over to see what others made.
This last time I had to join... a simple card loosely inspired by the embroidery work of Anna Torma.

De kaart is recht, echt waar :) Alleen het witte stukje is (met opzet :)) extra scheef gesneden
The card is straight, really :) Only the small white panel is cut askew (on purpose :))

Drie stempels gebruikt en een uiennetje over een stempelkussen heengetrokken om de vlekjes te stempelen.

Used three stamp and an onion netting over a stamp pad to make the small spots.

p.s. voor wie het werk van Anna Torma wil zien: in Rijswijk is de Textiel Biënnale nog tot 11 september a.s. Op die tentoonstelling hangen een paar wandkleden van haar hand.

Ik heb de gesso over een geverfde achtergrond geveegd. Het gestempelde op de voorgrond is met zwart poeder geëmbost. De plaatjes weer uit een oud biebboek geknipt.
I wiped the gesso on a painted background, the stamping is heat embossed with black ep. Images snipped from an old library book.

WS: thinking cap

Mijn WS 'denkpetje' is meer een hoed geworden :)

Achtergrond met veel acrylverf, over de gestempelde tekst heen geschreven met acrylverfstift.
Background with lots of acrylic paint. Stamped text overwritten with acrylic paint marker.

WS: Krant / Newspaper

Kranten deze week bij WS. Ik heb de krant op een willekeurige bladzijde opengeslagen en dat was toevallig de pagina met rouwberichten. Mijn thema voor het tweeluik was toen snel gevonden... Wees blij met het leven, Pluk de dag.
Newspapers at WS this week. I opened the newspaper at a random page, which happened to be the family (death) notifications (sorry, i really don't know what these pages are called in English). There was the theme for the diptych I wanted to make staring at me... Be grateful for life, Seize the day.

Twee vierkantjes van 7,5 cm aan elkaar gezet met textielplakband. Kleine stukjes tekst uit de advertenties geknipt (als je op de foto klikt kun je ze waarschijnlijk wel lezen). Achtergrond is acrylverf, schrijfwerk met Sharpie poster marker.
Two 3" squares attached to each other with fabric tape. Small bits trimmed from the notifications (click on the photo to read the Dutch texts, 'with great sorrow' 'our beloved' 'he loved life, he had so many plans', you get the point). Background is done with acrylic paint, lettering with Sharpie poster marker.

WS: Hello, Sunshine

Het thema bij WS is Shunshine. Beter kan haast niet nu ik net weer terug ben van een paar weken fietsen, wandelen, vogels kijken, eten en veel luieren in de zon :)
WS theme this week is Sunshine. Couldn't be better being back from a few weeks of walking, cycling, bird watchig, eating and generally being lazy in the sun :)
