Burned Embossing - Sweet Stamps Challenge

Welcome to Tuesday, we have another challenge for you over on Sweet Stamps Challenge Blog and this week we have technique challenge and that is to create a project using "Burned Embossing" that simply is to heat your embossing powder so that it lays flat and not raised.. Check out the challenge blog for tips and tricks..

Crafting supplies I used
Sweet Stamps - Parisian Bouquet
Design Paper - Kasiercrafts The Lake House
Sweet Stamps Embossing Powder - Liquid Platinum
Distressing Ink - Victoria Velvet
I'll be honest with you, I wasn't looking forward to this challenge,  but I was pleasantly surprised how easy and fun it was. I had to dust off the cobwebs of my heat gun and embossing powders, I can remember the first time I saw embossing powders in actions and it was like magic watching the powders raise up..lol
Hope you like my little card today, please pop over and join in the challenge.  You don't have to use a Sweet Stamps image and we would love to see what you all come up with.

I love making Christmas Cards, I think its the colours, the glitter and the gorgeous papers.  The poinsettia below has been created using the Build a Flower series #1 from Cheery Lynn.  I distressed with Fired Brick Distress inks (nice and messy) then added the centres with have been glittered.  Behind the flower I have used the Lacey Christmas Ornaments which have also been glittered..
Most of my cards are 14.5cm x 14.5 cm (5/6inch Square)
for this card I cut my card size then cropped about 7cm off the bottom of the front of my card, I then die cut the Frills and Hearts border to create a lovely decorative edge.

Frame It!!..

Hello all, early bird start for me today! Here with another great challenge from Sweet Stamps and the challenge this week is... "Frame it" to use a frame on your project.  It would be great if you use one of the many frames stamped frames that Sweet Stamps stock this will get you entered into the prize draw twice to win an amazing $20 spending spree in the Sweet Stamps Store.

I chose to create a Kicker Card as the frame I used worked really well for this style, but if you have the chance, please do check out the other design teams makes they are all extremely fabulous!!

I kept my card quite plain on the outside as I didn't want to detracted from the frame and image (this was really hard for me as I wanted to embellish, embellish, embellish)lol..

Here's a close up of the image, really love colouring this stamp, great for practising shading skills and looks so pretty..

Did I miss Christmas?

Hello all, it seems like ages since I was on my blog! Things had just gone from mad to crazy in the space of a few days.  I had some very sad news just before Christmas that my grandmother was in hospital, she passed away a few days later... So it was up to North Wales the following week for the funeral. Although it was a very sad day it was so nice to see the family again and to catch up.  Since the funeral I haven't really had the time or the mojo to get any crafting done.
But now I'm in full swing and planning a whole day in my crafting shack (I think its in need of a clean and tidy up before any crafting can be done..lol)
Here are a few cards that I made for SCSC that I didn't get to post..

This card was made for a lady at work those Aunt and Uncle reached their 60th Wedding Anniversary.  She wanted something a bit more special and this is what I came up with.  I decorated the inside of the card and included a few little tags for their own personal message.  I made and decorated a box to match.  The card even rocks!!

This card was for a very dear friend and is one of my first tries at a kicker style card.  I had a lot of fun making this card and really hope she liked it.

I love these two colours together and this magnolia stamp is also one of my favourites.

Well that's if for me today, I have to go and get myself sorted out and back into a routine.. I will be around to visit all your blogs shortly.
