Cut It Up Challenge #10--In with the New

Hi everyone!!
Happy Friday! We have a new challenge at Cut It Up Challenges today and this week's challenge #10 is "In with the New".

Create a paper project with a new crafty item that you got for the holidays. Didn't get any crafty items? No worries, use something from your stash that you bought and have not used yet.  Must use a die cut.

I did not get any new crafty items(surprisingly) this Christmas. The closest thing I got to crafty is a new camera which allows me to take photos for layouts....so I used a new cartridge I bought in November but hadn't used yet.

The cartridge I used is Pirates and Mermaids and I just made a generic, fun card that I can use to just send out to just say hi to someone and catch up with them.

I cut out two of the seaweeds(4 layers of color on them) and then the seashell(3 layers of color) and my mermaid. This is an A2 card on blue cardstock and then I laid down a green mat that is slightly patterned(looks like wood grain but thought it could work for seeweed even though you can't see it much), and then a textured blue paper for the water. I put my seashell down first and then my seaweed and my mermaid on top. Then, I really had fun by adding various sizes of pearls(3 sizes) for the bubbles and I really love how it turned out and I love her pop of red hair also. On the inside I might put something like, "Swimming by just to say hi".

There you have it! Make sure to stop by Cut It Up Challenges to check out the other DT's creations and link up your project. Must use something new or you haven't used yet AND a die-cut! Have fun!

Happy Frankenstein's Day+My Craft Spot Challenge

Hi everyone!

Today's creation is for My Craft Spot's #74-Little Monsters which is to make a creation including a monster.
I made this fun card with Frankenstein and his bride on it and I thought it was too perfect to post today as I just found out today is also National Frankenstein Day! How fun is that??
Frankenstein and the bride, the grass, and tombstone are all cut from the Happy Hauntings cartridge. The stars, tree, fence, and castle are all cut from the Create a Critter 2 cartridge. The stamp sentiment, "Have a monsterously fun Halloween" is from My Craft Spot's "Ghostly Greetings" stamp set. This is my first Mountain Valley fold card and I think it turned out so cute!

I just think these monsters are so darling!!

Such a fun challenge! Thanks so much for taking a look and maybe you'll also get out and celebrate National Frankenstein's Day!!
