Captain Edwin says Ahoy, Matey!

Happy Tuesday, y'all! I hope everyone had a nice long weekend! We spent Memorial Day (US National Holiday) weekend at our condo in New Smyrna Beach, FL. It was pretty crowded, but a wonderful and relaxing time! I will try to post some beach pics later.

It seems like it has been forever since I have posted a Magnolia card! I have been really busy and it seems like my insanity of chaos is just starting! (can't wait until school is out!) I made this card last weekend for a birthday party my youngest son went to. The birthday boy loves pirates and I thought Captain Edwin was perfect. His little friend still loves the pirate invites I sent out for Carson's party and decided to have a pirate party of his own! He loved this card! You can get Cap'n Edwin and the barrel & skull stamps over at Magnolia-licious!
This was a quick card...I used all PTI papers: Vintage Cream, Kraft and Enchanted Evening. I sponged some Tea Dye Distress Ink to all of the edges after I tore them. Nothing fancy, but it is for a boy!! I colored the images with Copics and cut them out. They were layered using 3-D foam tape. The sentiment comes from a SU pirate set.
Here is a side view, so you can see the layering.
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a wonderful rest of the day!

I've been a little busy....

making my son's birthday invites, but I am very pleased how they turned out!

Here is the pile of Edwin's and Tilda's that I colored with Copics and hand cut. I made 20 in all - boy was my hand tired after I finished these! I just got these new stamps from Magnolia-licious last week!

Here is the invite for the boys in his class: I printed the invite on Vintage Cream, cut notches around the edges and inked it with tea dye distress ink as well as some Basic Black. The "x" stamp is from a SU set. I got my inspiration for this invite from the current Magnolia Ink Magazine. We have this awesome Pirate Ship park in our neighborhood, so it is a perfect setting. Needless to say, Carson is very excited! :) Here is the version for the girls in my son's class.

Thanks for stopping by! ~Tori
