Happy 50th Anniversary/Mojo Monday

Hello again.  I have not been on the computer much the last couple days.  I have gone back to work and I am trying to figure out how my card making and blog visiting will all fit in together with work.  I made this card for my MIL.  She called and asked me to make a special card for her aunt's 50th wedding anniversary.  The 50th anniversary is the Golden Anniversary so I tried to work those colors into the card.  It needed to be pretty simple so I could mail it to her and so she can put it in an envelope.  A lot of my cards are so embellished they just about don't fit in an envelope.  Either I hand deliver or I have some bigger envelopes that are 4x6 and that helps with more room for some of the embellishments.
I used my new set from PTI called Embellishments.  This is a beautiful set and I can see myself using it a lot.  I also played along this week at Mojo Monday.  They always have the cutest sketches.
I also wanted to share an award I received from two wonderful ladies I call my friends.  Stella and Ros both gave this sweet award to me.  You must stop by and check their blogs out if you haven't already.  Both are very talented ladies with big hearts.  Thank you so much for thinking of me.

The rules for accepting this award are:
1: To thank the person who gave you the award so I'd like to say "Thank you so much" to Ros and Stella who choose my blog for this award.
2: Copy the award to your blog.
3: List 3 things you love about yourself

1.) I love that I have a wonderful family who I can count on always being there for me.
2.) I love that I am a very strong willed person and if I set my mind to it I can usually accomplish it.
3.) I love that I have the BEST blog friends a girl can possibly have.  If it weren't for you I would be lost in this world.  You have all been so kind and caring to me when I have needed it the most.

4: Choose a favorite photo:

Many of you see this photo every time you visit my blog.  What you don't see is the other half.  This is my best friend Gina.  When I lived in Iowa, it was her family that we spent every holiday together with.  We spent almost every Friday together shopping at Archivers, eating dinner, and shopping at the mall or JoAnn's.  Now that I have moved to Alabama, I am lost without her.  Our kids played together, our husbands went to High School together(which we didn't know until we met, neither one of us are from Iowa but our husbands are).  I miss you Gina!

5. Is to pick 5 people to pass this award to.
Well, as you all know I have way to many wonderful blog freinds to pass this to.  It is for each and every one of you.  So please feel free to take it.  Post this and tell me all about you.  I want to see them all!

Card Patterns Sketch 79

Hello.  It is Saturday again and I am here to share my card for this weeks sketch at Card Patterns.  We are sponsored by D R S Designs.  I got these cute little marshmallow stamps to work with.
I made a little more clean and simple card than I usually do.  Sometimes I like that.  Isn't the button in the middle too cute?  I think it looks like a snowflake, which matches the paper.

I will be back to post the supplies.  :)

Thaks for stopping by,

Witches and Goblins

Hello.  I am back again to share the other card I made using my Halloween vintage images.  Isn't this the cutest image?  I think this skull key charm fits perfectly.  I can imagine that she is the keeper of the key to the cage that houses the Goblins.  I was so excited when the cute new frame I found at Michaels fit right over the Happy Halloween.  I had to do some playing around to figure out how I was going to work that out.  The frame is from Making Memories.  They have some great new metal embellishments.
What do you think?  Witches, Goblins, and a doily.  LOL
I also used black tread in my sewing machine and did a little zig zag stitch.

Halloween Tricks

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  I have been seeing so many cute Halloween cards lately.  I have bunches of vintage images saved and was dying to use them.  I get most of my images from Hub Pages.  Pretty much if you search for vintage images you can find them for free.  I also have a couple links on my side bar with vintage images.
So this is the one I have to share today.
I took these photos in my sons room this morning.  It think this is better light.  A little warmer and not so much grey.  The walls are the same color in the whole house.  Russian White.  Which is an almost cream color.  So I guess it just makes a difference in the amount of sun coming in the room.  In his room in the morning is full sun.  I angled the blinds so I didn't get direct light but plenty of light.  What do you think?  Better?
I thought this little girl looked so cute with this Basic Grey paper that looks like old wall paper.  I am totally addicted to vintage images.  But!  I like my stamps too.  I am completely torn.  What do you like seeing here the most?  Please be honest.
I dug through and pulled out all my Halloween embellishments.  I went through all my Basic Grey pads of paper and pulled out any sheets that I thought could possibly work and pre printed my images at 3.75 inches tall which seems to be the best size that I like to work with.  I pull them up in Microsoft Word.  I put as many images on that page as would possibly fit and printed at one time.  Then cut them up.  I lay the images out on papers that I think goes with the image I want to work with.  Then I just create away.  Wait until I show you the other one I made.  :)  I will share it tomorrow.

Our Anniversary

Hello.  I was going to post this yesterday and it ended up a day later.  I will tell you why.  It was mine and my husband's anniversary on Saturday.  We had planned on going to dinner that night and do some shopping.  Well...that didn't go as planned.  I have been having problems with my eyes lately and it all hit home on Saturday afternoon.  We were in the grocery store and I started to get an aura like I use to get when I would get my severe migraines.  So we rushed home and I drugged my self up with Benadryl.  Which actually works along with Ibuprofen for my migraines.  I got to thinking that this didn't hurt like I had a migraine, just my eyes were bothering me.  I had a lot of pressure behind my right eye.  So I go to thinking that it might be sinus pressure, so I took meclazine which I take when I get a dizzy head.  Sure enough, that is what it was.  So we had to put off dinner on Saturday for lunch on Sunday.  We ended up just going to Five Guys for a burger because I was still so groggy, I didn't feel much like getting ready for a nice lunch.  Oh well, what do you do?
This is the card I made for my husband.  I always have the hardest time making a "man" card.  I ordered the PTI set Background Basics: Woodgrain.  I do not have very many options in my stash for making a masculine card so I decided to order this set.  I have seen the DT girls at Papertrey makes the best cards using this set.  SOLD!  I even did up the inside.  What do ya think?
Masculine enough?  I asked my husband and he said " but you put flowers on it!'  I told him it was leaves, not flowers,  I thought it was pretty good.  My best at a man card if I do say so myself.
I used Versamark for the wood grain.  I like how it just gave the faint grain appearance.

Card Patterns #77

Hello everyone.  I am back to share my card for this weeks sketch at Card Patterns.  This week is sponsor free so I got to use from my own stash.  I decided to use one of my favorite vintage images.  I just love Poppies.  They grow along the interstate here.  As you drive by you see miles of beautiful Poppies.  I guess they planted them there.  I just moved here so I am not quite sure.  So any who..on to the card.
I think I am going to break down and just get a light tent.  Usually I have decent light, but it is best mid afternoon in the room where I take my pictures.  This was taken in the morning.
I will be back to morrow to share the card I made for my husband.  It is our 11 year anniversary today.  We are going to go to dinner and maybe some shopping.  It is still pretty darn hot here.  The good thing...it cools down as soon as the sun goes down.  It is lower humidity and that makes a huge difference.
