Kraft and White

I've been seeing quite a lot of white embossing on coloured card in the online crafty-verse lately and it's a technique I was keen to try. I made this card (itself based off a card I found on Pinterest) and loved the effect and had the idea that white embossing might look lovely on a kraft-coloured card, with perhaps some delicate colouring.
So that's exactly what I did:
I thought this striking Repose image by Brigid Ashwood would be perfect for this technique and I love how she looks embossed and coloured this way.
I stamped her using Versamark ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder and then added some delicate colouring using Prismacolor pencils. I layered the image over a second piece of kraft card, which I had dry embossed with an embossing folder and then layered that onto a card blank made from blue card.
I kept the card quite simple and striking, finishing things off with some small flowers punched from blue card, decorating the centres with Enamel Accents and tiny metal cogs.
You can buy this stamp in red rubber format from the Sweet Pea Stamps store.

Thinking of You

I am in love with this beautiful image from artist Brigid Ashwood. She's elegant. She looks so deep in thought and I added a wonderful "Thinking of You" stamp to the top of the card. This gorgeous woman comes from Plate #104 with another stunning stamp.
I wanted to make part of her look almost wooden and the other part look human so I am mixing a family of brown copic markers with skin tone copic markers. These colors go wonderfully with a brown cardstock base and red/black highlights. The border punch is from Martha Stewart and the bling I used is from Queen&Co.

I think this image itself makes the card say everything. A few beautiful embellishments to highlight the image is all it takes to give a wonderful greeting to the person you are thinking of.

Hope this card inspires you to go make a card today!
Cheers, Holley

Repose

Hi everyone!! It was so nice outside last Wednesday that I took my pic's outside and took full advantage of the sunlight. This image is one of Brigid Ashwoods most recent images at Sweet Pea Stamps. I really love this image so much and she is called "Repose" and can be found on sheet #3 Plate #104.

My Checked background DP is from K&Company and all the rest is from a Tim Holtz stack. I distressed everything and colored her with my copics. The border was created with a BIG EKSuccess border punch, the big rose is from Wild Orchid Crafts, Maya Road brown leaf pins, American Crafts vintage brads, Black border was created with an EKSuccess border punch, Oval Nestie and Foam tape for dimension( actually I use Kids Fun Foam for my dimension instead of foam tape, it is much cheaper with the amount I use, as it goes on every card I create and I can cut it to the size or sizes I need). Try it! It works great and will save you money.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Repose

Today I want to share with you one of the newest images of the fantastic artist Brigid Ashwood. You can find this lovely stamp on plate 104. It comes with another fabulous image and will be shipped by 7th February.

This time I coloured her up with watercolor pencils. I wanted to keep up her wooden touch. I love her melancholic glance. Take a look at Sweet Pea Stamps to see this image and many more wonderful stamps.

Hugs, Karina
