Squiggly Christmas Trees

Hiya! I recently bought a new Lavinia stamp, which I think is really designed to be for trailing foliage, but in the Lavinia For You FB group I saw someone use it as a Christmas tree, and it looks beautiful! So I had to have a go... I stamped the 'tree', and then masked off the panel, and used torn paper, ink dusters and inks to create the background. I added some 3D sparkle with Nuvo Glitter Drops, and then added snow by using watered-down gouache, flicked at the card. Yes, it went everywhere! But I love the effect. Scribbly Flowers

Hi! Here's a card inspired by this week's Less Is More challenge. I stamped the flowers and sentiment, then stamped another small flower on a scrap of card, to layer about the small flower on the card. I really don't like fussy cutting, but I like the extra dimension it has given. I coloured with inks and a water brush, inspired by the colours at the Paper Play challenge, although I had to mix a couple of the colours as I didn't quite have anything that matched. I added some Nuvo Drops to the flower centres to make them stand out a little bit more, and used a Wink of Stella brush to add some shimmer to the flowers, although it hasn't shown up very well on the photos!

Cream, Yellow & Pink

Hiya! I wanted to make a card for the current colour challenge at Rubber Dance, but I was a bit stumped as to how to use these 3 colours. In the end I kept it simple. I used distress oxides smooshed onto an acrylic block and spritzed with water, to make a cream, yellow and pink background, then stamped a flower 3 times over the top. I coloured the spots in the middle of the flower using the cream oxide, to get an opaque coverage, and for the petals I used 'normal' distress ink, so that the pink would blend a little with the background colour. I used my new big shot (I love it!) to cut a frame for the flowers, and used 3D squares to lift it a little bit from the flowers.
