Cross Stitch

After a night full of thunder and lightning, I felt this morning like my brain needed a re-set. I sat down without a clear plan of what I wanted to write about today. When the writer's block didn't evaporate, I headed over to etsy for some inspiration. Its been a long time since I browsed just for the fun of it... I typed in the words "cross stitch" and selected the "vintage" category. Lo and behold, I found 195 pages worth of listings!

Antique linens, marked true to the fashion of the time...
Lovely old samplers...
Vintage table cloths...
Even printed mattress covers...
And inserts in leather portfolios...
Pre-printed kits hailing from yesteryear...
Lithographed tins...
Vintage kitchen samplers...
Victorian perforated paper tokens...
Even a vintage Saks Fifth Avenue shirt printed with a cross stitch pattern... and for only $10... I'd be buying this one if I was a size small... anyone?
By the time I got to page 30, my eyes had started to cross, and I decided I had better go find another way to re-set my brain... Perhaps some weed pulling will do the trick.

Nah.

By the way, click on each picture to be re-directed to its listing on etsy, and tell me if I helped you find a new treasure! Happy shopping...

If Etsy Was My Closet

This is what I would be wearing today:

dark brown shrug-bolero by larimeloom
(everything else she's wearing too, for that matter)
YOUR Initial Earrings by FrenchSentiments
The Sweet Chocolate Bar - Brown Crochet Shoes by soleilduautomne

I own a version of the earrings already, and love, Love, LOVE them! Mine are slightly different from the listing, per my request, and Kathy made them even more perfect than I had visualized (thank you with all my heart!).

I wear them all the time.

And every time I do, I forget that my clothes came from Goodwill... and off of the clearance rack... and handed down from my sister's closet, and instead feel like I'm the Queen of Style.

Hurry up and go get yourself a pair too, before she runs out of those amazing, old, letter pieces!

If Etsy Was My Closet

This is what I would be wearing today:

Mohair Shrug by reflectionsbyds
Raw Silk Flare Pants by kalilalove
Equinox Flat by HydraHeart
Carved Bone Bird Necklace by FrenchSentiments

And I would be drinking endless amounts of piping hot Cafe Rojas out of this mug by SimplyDaisy:

And I am!... Well... (ahem), actually... I sadly don't own one single piece of the outfit, and endless mugs of Rojas would make me as jittery as a jackhammer, but at least the Mug is really and truly mine...

Its the little things, you know.
