MC June/14 - Ecstasy Crafts Folders - cards

http://yogiemp.com/HP_cards/MiscChallenges/MiscChallenges2014/MCJune14_EcstasyCrafts.htmlEcstasy Crafts is having a contest/challenge with a chance to win $100 worth of product if you use and upload one of their new embossing folders... So I ordered a couple - they are really nice. BIG GRIN.

And then one of my friends mentioned having problems with Gelatos or maybe not so much problems but not really knowing how to use them... so I figured I better brush up on that again. So both these cards use Gelatos  in the embossing folders, one on watercolor paper and the other on cardstock.

And I went to one of my quilling sessions yesterday and was productive, so used something I made there. And the filigree bow I created using my electronic cutter.

MC July/13 - Gelatos - Letters Mingle

I came across Jill Foster's Gelatos video tutorial and had fun doing the techniques she demoed. This card uses the 1st technique of a dry embossed design colored with the Faber Castell Gelatos... I used very similar colors and a similar layout. Thanks Jill. She used the kit that Faber Castell came out with.

I ran my 110# white cardstock through my machine with the Cuttlebug 5 x 7 "Typeset" embossing folder. Applied the Gelatos (Yellow, red, dp pink, lt pink), blending the colors as I went. Dampened a paper towel with some water and blended and dabbed some more. (I have 2 boxes of baby wipes somewhere in my house, but do you think I could find them...). Dried thoroughly and then swiped a white Gelato over the high areas.
Trimmed my background and adhered to an apple green cardstock.

Adhered the green gauze ribbon and then the background to my white 5"w x 7"h card.

Die cut the leaves (Memory Box "Lorelai Leaf") from the white cardstock and colored with the Gelatos, misting the cardstock with water and blending the colors with my finger. Adhered them to the card.

Stamped the sentiment (Quietfire Design) using Versafine Black Onyx and clear embossed. Trimmed down and adhered to a green cardstock then onto my card with 3D foam tape.

I'm really pleased with the outcome.

And it fits for these challenges:
Crafts & Me Challenge  #139 Anything goes
Crafty Creations  #232 summer or what makes it feel like summer (these colors...)
Divas by Design  #95 anything goes
Pile it on Challenge  #29 Thinking of you or Just because
