I have a question about desert exploration rewards. If deserts are always level 3, do I still multiply the rewarda I get there on a successful skill check? Eg desert exploration black 9 has the choice to test resourcefulness and get 20 credits on a success. Do I then times that by three and gain 60 credits? That seems a little much.
Just noticed you're David Blandy so I'm guessing it will be?!! I got my copies of lone eons and eco mofos (roach cover 😎) last week in the post from tlb. Off on holiday tomorrow and wondering which one to take.
Guessing I just missed the community copies for this. Is there any chance I could get one? I'll buy the print zine when it's available 😁
This was really cool! I got both special endings and the good ending.
What is the door behind the tree about? I tried to go through a few times and guess the sequence and eventually it told me 'you don't currently have the power'. I also couldn't figure out how to get the bad ending.
It's amazing that this is your first game! It makes me want to try making something too 😊
Hi, I just played through beneath a broken sword solo. It was very fun but I have a couple of questions.
1. Ability score damage: I haven't seen any way to take ability score damage except to strength after your resilience reaches zero. How would you recommend implementing this? I noticed some skills have both an ability and fatigue in the brackets after them - I interpreted this as, to use this skill you have to make an ability save and you also take a fatigue. Is this correct or do you take ability damage instead of making a save?
2. Death: Does dropping to zero resilience kill you, or is it only failing the death saves when you take damage to strength that does? I assumed it was the former but then you die if you fill your inventory, which makes less sense.
3. Are there any resources you recommend as inspiration for developing solo adventures? Or just general Norse folklore references.
I think I had more questions but those are the only ones I remember for now. Thanks for making a great game!
Hi. I just got heroes of cerulea so I thought I'd give this a go. Not sure if I'm playing it right but I'm dying A LOT. Mainly because every combat encounter has multiple enemies and using the rules in the core book, I understand that I can attack one but have to defend against all the others. I'm dying every time I come across monsters... Would halving the amount of enemies each combat be 'cheating'?
Also curious what the benefit of a ranged weapon is. If you fail a combat roll with a ranged weapon, do you still lose a heart?
I'm loving it though. All I did when I tried playing the original legend of Zelda was die so it's accurate in that regard lol.
Read through and this looks pretty cool, like an analog stardew. I have a question about crops though - how do you determine how much you harvest? Is it a card draw like for meat and if so how many cards? And you mention replanting - how many seeds do you get per pound of crop? You also have a time cost for harvesting but not planting, guessing you're gonna add all this stuff later on. Excited to see how this develops 😊
Hi. I bought a physical copy of this game at leisure games in London. I grabbed a community copy so I could print out the character sheet but since I already own it maybe you want to restock it?
Anyway it's an awesome game, I just reread the borrowers and I'm excited to create my own. I generally play solo and the rules are easily adaptable for that, which is really nice.
Hey, I grabbed a community copy and gave this a quick run through. I died in room 9 (although I had three swords at this point...). Those slurpers are vicious.
This was a lot of fun, thank you. I'm going to play through a few more times, because I never rolled a social or challenge, but how do I find more games like this? I've played corny grón and dark fort.
