💦 FULL SET: Space shooter - High Quality

SPACE SHOOTER

epic, my first pico8 game wow.

took like 2-3hours, fastest game so far for sure. very limited engine but i like the simplicity and constraints. summer 25 after holiday. was previously building on a bigger project, aiming for a commercial release in godot on steam but with school just starting that all feels a little optimistic. so for now i downloaded pico and im playing a bit with that for now. ill see later, maybe do some gamejams. btw i feel like my concept for that commercial release is totally not tested, and before i spill my free time onto it i want to feel a bit more secure about how good its gonna be. so ig im having a little brake from that.

btw based off a small tutorial, i built it further. i couldve spent more time on fancy visuals but idk i need to code everythiung thats being displayed and it feels messy and annoying. so i skipped that for now. i think i want to use pico8 maybe for some game jams from this point, but rn i kinda got mixed feelings about what i think of it. theres pros and cons.
another pro is that in these little 3 hours, i feel like i already master the basics of how this software works and i can just work on my own projects from here if i like. so thats nice.

one more thing, working in pico feels KIIND of bad because i know the engine is super limited, and its just for small stuff and theres just a lot of stuff i cant do with this engine. and i feel like i should maybe spend my time in godot rather than pico because of this. but im not doing that bc pico is inspiring and more fun atm. idk what i want. again, for now ill just do a gamejam or two and then see further. gamedev will after all probably stay one of my hobbies, so maybe its not that deep

i feel like the best part of the engine is that the constraints really boost my creativity, and it makes things simple so im able to expand. ok cool bwgliewnlqgn
