The tragic irony of the whole thing with the Christians is that, in the Bible, it's at least implied that going out of your way to vouch for censorship is a blatantly not Christian thing.  At the very least, Abeka Books (a solid Christian homeschool curriculum that I worked with) has stated and shown time and time again that a rise in coerced censorship of any kind for any reason is generally a really really bad sign.

My point is the chumps responsible for the BS we've faced before and are facing again now were never really in it to protect children, or evangelize the media, or really any benevolent reason.

They're just bullies--manchildren that wear things like "think of the children", "protect minors", "clean up the streets", all manner of phrases that otherwise mean nothing to them, as masks to trick the innocent from left and right alike into playing their putrid war games at the expense of God-given human rights and therefore all our lives.

It falls from the same rotten tree as cancel culture and book banning.  Same branch even.  

The most disgusting part?  It worked.  Low-tier power trip junkies have been doing this for centuries and it always worked.

And I'm beyond sick of it.

I looked at the bonus challenges of category 2 (Social Media), and saw that they catered towards stuff like parasocial shenanigans and fame farming (basically the horrors that come to mind when your mother thinks "social media").

I'm not super disappointed, but rather surprised that they went with that for Social media than the more currently relevant issue of censorship.

So, I came up with a different set of bonus challenges that cater more towards the talk of the town (I don't think the bonus challenges affect your ratings, so it should be fine):

1. You Can't Say That - digital censorship is a primary theme of the game's story or gameplay (the player can be on either side of "the banhammer" at any given moment*, AND the censorship can take any form; from control-hungry governments to well-intentioned extremist groups, from cancel culture to self-censorship--you've got a LOT of options and can mix and match them if you want).

2. Ramp Up - the problem (whatever that is; it could be censorship itself, or perhaps another issue the candid discussion of which is being censored) starts as very minor, benign, or even benevolent (e.g. presented as the solution to another problem); but gradually becomes more obviously troublesome and sinister as the story progresses (just like the spirals in Uzumaki; or, y'know, censorship in the real world).

3. Man Behind The Man - whoever is presented (to the public and/or the player) as "in-charge" of an operation is actually serving as the puppet of someone or something else (if and how the player gets to confront this other entity or even the first one is the developer's choice).

Feel free to mix and match these with the original bonus challenges from this or other categories (like connecting category 1's 'forgiveness' thing with the 'cancel culture' route of my alt!1 here)

*this means you don't have to change whether the player is the victim or culprit of censorship, but you can if you wanna do that for the story (e.g. a censorship officer realizing "oh, this is actually kinda fricked up")

Word of advice: don't bank on Google to handle accounts and such.  They've been in on several censorship/anti-privacy gigs too many for me to trust.

in all seriousness tho, this looks pretty cool.  I do kinda wish i knew ahead of time that you gotta DRAG AND DROP the tower instead of SELECT AND CLICK.  I'd like to see this get better.

This is pretty good, for what you prolly had time for.  Really looking forward to the "updating the game i made for a gamejam because i have time for that now" version of the game, cuz MY GOODNESS, THIS DESERVES A FULL VERSION!

One problem: When I created my itch.io account, it didn't save.  All the progress I've done throughout the day with this game is gone.  I'm guessing that means I gotta reset all the other games too...
