I have about 20 years of professional programming experience in the web space as a frontend and backend developer.

When the pandemic hit and my board game groups and sessions got more or less wiped; I wanted to get into game development and replicate the table top experience online.

I spent a couple of years , when I had time outside of work, prototyping games using web technologies. I realized the platform was a bit lackluster for the purpose of monetizing and making games professionally.

I gave up on the dream and focused on my professional career again, man's got to eat..

Every now and then I installed Unity, Game Maker Studio 2 or Godot but never really got into it because of many reasons.

Mid 2022 I signed a client contract and was given the opportunity to learn the Rust programming language and to migrate some nodejs lambdas and servers to rust/tokio instead.

2024 I discovered the Bevy game engine and entered the pirate game jam, I failed to publish before the time ran out.

Since then I've been relentless on weekends and evenings studying trigonometry, CPUs, GPUs and rendering, windowing APIs and more.
