In 1982, intrigued by a review in 'Creative Computing', I saved up my allowance and bought a copy of Infocom's 'Deadline' for my Commodore 64. Although I ultimately needed Invisiclues to solve the game, memories remain of staying up past my bedtime roaming around the Robner house following after characters described only in text but acting and moving with unique personalities .
The games here stem from that fascination with those Infocom games. They are parser-based text adventures with modern conveniences but, essentially, retro in nature. While not as notoriously difficult as the games from the 80s (we paid a lot of money for those games and felt cheated if we didn't get weeks or even months of gameplay out of them), they are puzzle-based and definitely not easy. Hints are available for most of them.
These games are coded using Dialog or Inform6 using the PunyInform library. AI has been occasionally used for cover art but there is no AI in any form within the games themselves.
