The only thing that comes to mind is maybe my choice of origin? When I got that scene I was a core-worlder, this playthrough I was a spacer. Does that make any difference?

Whether he's that receptive that early depends on a number of factors, but getting any of the spicy content in Void Dreaming at its earliest always requires a much more optimal approach than otherwise. Your choices really so matter here!
