Why am I top score? Didn't even win (couldn't find a bloody place to sleep). Ig being lucky enough to grab a screaming mandrake and immortality while going foxified gets you places (that aren't living, for I can't find the supposed new 'cabin' content even after raiding all the wood).

All the restarts and waiting eons to get back where you were gets annoying though. The only metaprogression seems to be epitaphs. Shadow Comprehension remains but doesn't immediately do anything.

A little confused. If the matrix is made up of a bunch of mundanes, and without conscious thought, how is it that this hasn't seen historic precedent?

I'd like to transfer my browser save to the desktop application. Is there any way to do so?

Ambient sound corrupted as I went farther out (or perhaps by metric of time). It all sounds like variants of a Geiger Counter and the sound on collecting resources becomes choppier. It continued to the title screen, oddly enough.

Looking up and down using mouse often ends up looking diagonally (in like, a sine wave). Same with left and right, oscillating but ultimately at least going in the general direction. Also, if I'm holding, say, W and A at once, I can't look right with the right arrow key.

Received this the moment I hit a white node seconds into the game.

0.1.0 isn't really a full release version though, is it?

Needs more keybinds/ux optimization, and wall collisions seem too large? There also aren't any tooltips for anything like status icons, buttons, or attributes, and I believe those would be quite helpful.

Not the first I've seen.

Let's not make it the last.

10 years from now Windows users will be using Line instead of Linux using Wine.

Really needs a small buffer between transitioning from movement to casting. wignitia dignitia...

Or at least alternatively, and perhaps obnoxiously, both exclude movement keys from being typed and have the letters in WASD never appear in a spell.

Bloody annoying and the source of 90% of my miscasts. Either of the above solutions are superior than this.

(Was glad to figure out arrow keys work, at least, but then some actions requiring mouse input are a pain. Not to mention the issue of your right hand being out of position for typing.)

Mouse button input doesn't work running on Wine, and received unspecified error extracting the zip.

Ah, and I was expectinging of a sort of fish-eat-fish minigame. Seems these hover-a-circle-over-the-money-object incrementals are starting to become incredibly common.

Anxiety is not fear. Mental illness prevents me from playing.

Besides the heartbeats, it's honestly otherwise relaxing. This game does not scare me.

Ubuntu version (why Ubuntu specifically?) doesn't provide necessary dependencies (there are more than what's listed in install instructions). Why not use an appimage?

Nonchalant ending tbh. I guess the spiders and ghosts went extinct. Speaking of, wasn't there another game with a tower, villagers collecting resources, and fending off spiders/ghosts?

(1 edit)

Prestige doesn't feel good, as it fails to scale with additional progress beyond the threshold. Balancing could also be improved, granted how income soars exponentially the moment you get a few blacksmiths in.

Keybind indicators (like 'Press E') should update to your current setting.

Seems to be looking for a library (libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0) that doesn't exist.

Title screen does not render.

Still in development?

The ascension bonuses are garbage anyway, and, if anything, probably slow you down.

Spare my wrists and let me auto-upgrade all, as a default setting, pls.

(7 edits)

I'm not going to say it's that interactive but simply that it's just ever-so-slightly less brainrot than clicking endlessly (at least until automation upgrades remove this sole form of engagement). And unlike Cookie Clicker you at least have something to do between waiting ten minutes staring at the screen between each golden cookie allowing you to get the next upgrade. Imo it's still bad, but better, as an active incremental gamer, even if I would have preferred a different direction. And clickers hurt my wrist a lot more than these tbh.

(3 edits)

I greatly dislike the unconventional talent trees (disguised near-linear progression due to how costs scale; you don't really have a choice if you're playing even close to optimally) that came with it, but the interactability is certainly an improvement.

(1 edit)

It seems I can just kill and spawn a new player at any point if things go wrong? Didn't invalidate my mission completion at least, but I'm quite sure my gold disappeared.

How does one deal with the fact you can't mine while swimming but a single pixel of overhang is blocking you from climbing back up the cliff? Seems to softlock me all too often unless I can get a rare moment that I can dig.

Description should really tell more on what the game is about and what the potential player should look forward to.

Prestige system does not exist in other configurations?

Thanks, might eat later.

(2 edits)

Wait, SP isn't tied to player progression at all? What even is the point? Just speedrun to living for 200 years, which can easily be done from the second life on the first run. Yeah, balancing is weird.

Good game did win.

Could we possibly receive a desktop download with an embedded font file? Or, at least, implement the option to replace all the emojis with images.

It seems there's some sort of heartbeat sound when you approach objectives? This causes anxiety in some people, including myself; could you implement a means to substitute that?

Yeah, select boxes seem to collide sometimes.

I mean, personally, I don't care much for health on my backline factories, and things I expect to die quickly don't need much cap.

I mean, you'll eventually pass any tedious level with enough grind, so, aye, multiple.

(4 edits)

It's sometimes possible to lose access to a factory's upgrade menu (and being able to move it) by placing them at the very edge of the screen and completing the stage, due to zooming in.

(Although, this can be mitigated by zooming back out manually every time a stage ends, if you're aware that's possible.)

(7 edits)

I want a 'puzzle' game out of this, and there aren't many incrementals that give that to me. If you want to play a braindead incremental, there are hundreds more; let the 'niche' be. Some people DO like this.

(2 edits)

I like the scaling; it's very refreshing to see a game do it right, with the potential to make actual builds rather than the usual slop of per-item exponential progression that basically locks you into upgrading everything at once.

Of course, it would be nice to have some form of refund option, and some sort of stats menu to identify contributions of each individual shape factory.

Planning to update this again?
