Asked a fortune teller.

it's exactly the same apart from the mild cost to personal dignity that comes from booting up steam.

if you go to "My Library" on itch and then hit "Download" there should be an option to claim the steam key!

absolutely

thank you! and yes, the esperanto thing comes from the history of the ESP-Disk music label - as the name suggests, it was initially founded to promote esperanto but became one of the most prominent early free jazz / experimental music labels from there. the label itself makes a cameo in Ears Of The Killer but i also just liked the idea of esperanto as a secret connecting sign of a new world that never quite arrived.

That's odd, I've tried it now and it shows up but only on the test copy I purchased myself - it doesn't seem to work for copies granted as a key, in case that's how you got it. If you mail me at stephengillmurphyty at hotmail dot com I'll manually send you on a code either way.

There's definitely some left, are you using the Itch.io client? It looks like the keys are only available if you sign in for the browser version of itch and then look at your library there

Hi there, no problem - it sounds like you're using the itch.io launcher, so you might need to sign into the web browser instead. On the web browser if you log in and select your account at the top right, then go to "My Library", "Things You Own" and then hit the red download button on the game. It should take you to a page with three builds available and beneath that is a button that says "Get Steam Key".

Again, I don't think you'll actually be able to play it on Steam until it launches there on Oct 8th but it sounds like other people have been able to activate it in advance!

really cool game, it was a treat getting to see someone else's take on one of these! :o)

hey, sorry you're having an issue! are you able to try downloading the non-v1.1 version of the mac app and then running the console command here? https://thecatamites.itch.io/anthology-of-the-killer/devlog/739142/notes-on-mac-...

Hey all - this game came out recently so I figured I would post it to the forum!

The title is Anthology Of The Killer and it's a collection of nine free horror games that were previously available for free on Gamejolt. The full collection is now hosted to itch as a bundled version along with bonus zine and little developer rooms. All the games form a series following the adventures of a new-wave rat girl trying to get by in a town whose only economic export is serial murder.

Despite being horror, the emphasis is more on comedy, strange spaces and interesting atmospheres. All the games take 10-30mins to play through. The series won the Nuovo Award at this year's Independent Games Festival and was also nominated for Best Visual Art and the Grand Prize! It is $6.

ah, thanks for checking! as you can probably tell it wasn't developed with widescreen in mind, haha. i'm looking at putting together a fix for the mac command line issue and will hopefully be able to turn off that 16:9 option for new builds, just as i think it's caused some issues and it's something i can't test myself!

hello, and sorry for the wait getting back to you! could you tell me if this is for all resolutions? does playing in 4:3 help?

hey there, sorry for the wait! could you tell me if this is for all resolutions? does switching to 4:3 help?

thanks for flagging! yes, i'm away from desk the next day or two but will look at this as soon as i'm back!

thanks for flagging this! i'm away from the desk for the next day or two but will take a look at it and applying the fix as soon as i'm back!

I posted most of my early games to Gamejolt before Itch.io existed; it has or had more emphasis on freeware games and a slightly different audience to the more professionalised indie sites, and I wanted to try getting them in front of different people than usual.

right now none of the games are actually hosted on itch! for perversity reasons. the full bundle next month will be though so should hopefully work with the loader.
