Bake Jack
Bake Jack is a deck-building roguelike baking game made for Brackeys Game Jam 2025.2 with the theme "risk it for the biscuit".
Play as Jack the baker, a bear who loves cookies almost as much as his ravenous clientele! Grow your arsenal of unique ingredients to make tastier cookies through a blackjack-based baking system. Be sure not to go overboard and ruin the cookie; Your clients are feisty raccoons, and they will attack when they get hungry!
Create powerful decks, learn to make the most of your limited cards, and stay one step ahead of the growing demands in Bake Jack.
How to play:

Gameplay notes:
- Click on a cookie to select it and then clic either a) a raccoon to feed it, b) Jake's portrait to heal yourself, c) the spot in the baking tray where the cookie was to drop it where it was without using it.
- There are 16 predefined waves and then the game switches to an endless mode with increasing difficulty.
- There are 29 upgrades/modifiers to buy leading to a huge amount of possible deck combinations. They all come with their pros and cons. Some times the best choice is to stick to your current deck or roll different upgrades.
- Set your name in the settings to participate in the leaderboard.
- There are some powerful ingredient combinations:
- Heat = 21, 2x multiplier
- All of the same suit, 1.5x multiplier
- And more hidden recipes!

QA and special thanks:
Cookie recipes:
There are some special recipes that provide additional cookie satisfaction strength:
- Great cookie 2x: A cookie with heat value equals 21
- Perfect cookie 2x: A cookie with heat value of 21 with exactly two cards
- Large cookie 4x: A cookie made with 5 or more cards
- Nutty/Fruty/Chocolatey 1.5x: A cookie with a single suit of cards
- Rainbow 4x: A cookie with 4 or more suits of cards
The recipes stack. For example a cookie with an ace (11) and a face (10) of chocolate gets a satisfaction value of 21x2x2x1.5=126.
Deck modifiers:
The deck modifiers can be purchased from the shop with the currency earned by the raccoons. Modifiers are randomly offered, keep an eye for these specials:
- Add spice cards to your deck. Spice cards do not have a satisfaction value but spiced cookies can be used to permanently increase your health.
- Add fireproof cards to your deck. Fireproof cards do not have a satisfaction but will prevent overheating (busting) once, allowing you to bake larger cookies going over the max heat of 21.
