Stitch Lasso
Some people sew or embroider to relax. The repeated loops, twists, and stitches can make you feel perfectly at peace. Well, what if it wasn't peaceful at all?
In this not-so-relaxing sewing game, use your thread to loop, knot, and vanquish tiny sprites while dodging projectiles and surviving as long as you can!

HOW TO PLAY
This game is mouse-input only (and mouse is recommended -- sorry trackpad warriors)! Left click and drag to release your thread. Avoid touching the sprites or their projectiles -- both will hurt you! Draw a closed loop around an enemy to destroy it and recover health. Survive as long as you can and let us know your high score!

A quick prototype we built for GMTK Game Jam 2025. The theme was loop, so I had the idea for a sewing/embroidery game where the loop is the core mechanic. I got this silly little idea with about a day or so left in the jam, so of course, I had to convince some friends to make it with me.
All art and programming for this game was done by us in about 24 hours! I wish we got to start earlier, but we're still proud of what we were able to make in such a short time, and we see it as a proof-of-concept that we'd love to expand on in the future! For this jam, we just wanted to make a quick prototype and see if this idea could be fun. This is also our first time making a bullet hell style game, so definitely let us know if the balancing or difficulty curve needs improvement.
Thanks for playing! And of course, since this was put together so quickly, let us know if you encounter bugs or have any other feedback!

The deep sigh but the straight 5 stars down...ur a real one funiful entertainment !! can't wait for that girp video...girp my beloved
One day I will girp lmao
Delighted to find sth thatโs actually kinda playable on mobile, will try on desktop later.
I guess touch kinda gives you the advantage of being able to teleport, but thatโs remedied by having your finger block part of the screen. Combined with the (on mobile) small size of the projectiles, partially low contrast, and lack of player skill, this meant that dodging the projectiles was more a matter of moving fast and being lucky. Still quite fun though!
(In case you actually plan to support mobile: accidentally touching a corner of the screen currently blocks movement)
thank you for playing, glad you found it fun! i actually didn't know if it would be playable on mobile - i'm glad it is, and maybe i'll try to release a patch to support mobile in the future!
yipppeeee good job team lavacado!!! the art is chef's kiss and definitely mastering the replayable game loop design. chaser my beloved ๐
It's surprising how many people went with "circle the thing" type games for this jam lol. Clearly, this one is a spiritual successor to Close Knit haha. It's simple, but I enjoyed the enemy variety and how they demand different approaches. Because the cursor/player character is so controllable, it's on the easier side. But it can quickly become difficult if you are slow to catch the enemies. Also... there may or may not be some cheesy strategies that trivialise the game.
LOL honestly i was also surprised, but it makes sense with the theme haha. perhaps great minds think alike!!!
thanks for playing! i definitely struggled to balance this one and ran out of time lol. i was trying to avoid players being able to cheese it by just face-tanking damage and drawing big circles around the whole screen by spawning more enemies around the sides, but i think you can still do that if you just move fast LOL. or were there other cheesy strats you found?
CLOSE KNIT REFERENCED !!! honestly, the fibercraft games are becoming our brand lol. i was actually thinking when i started working on this that, since i didn't have time to flesh this game out much, it could be a proof of concept for a future close knit minigame... so it's super great to get everyone's feedback on it!! thanks for your comment <3
You're spot on with the cheese, it's just looping around the whole screen. The secret is that I'm somehow able to take the cursor outside the the play-space entirely (not playing in full-screen). No bullets can me touch me out there but the cursor's trail is still registered somehow. So I can complete the loop at no risk lol
To be fair, it's much more balanced when playing by the rules. Just as easy to lose HP as it is to get back to full.
Seems like a Close Knit 2 is in the plans huh?
