Click the play button....briefly says "running" and then nothing happens. This is the only game that has the issue. Any ideas?

Who thought this would be a good idea? So I was playing your game, having a pretty good time. I've got an ally following me into this snowy area, and the fight's on. I can't control him, of course, but I'm doing fine. The fight comes to an end, I'm almost finished, then the “YOUR ALLY IS DEAD” screen appears. It's 2024! We've got 40 years of video games that have made this mistake... Either let us control this ally, or make sure we can't lose for reasons beyond our control. I'm not a nanny for my alli...
