The remake is ass and pales in comparison to the original from 28 years ago. It's not even worth the winter sale price. SEGA outsourced this game's development to a bunch of mediocre Polish game devs. What the hell was the point of that? keep development in Japan! only Japanese talent could give the remake the honor, respect and justice it deserves, nobody else. Poor decision on SEGA's part.

-The music is so boring and quiet the devs could have omitted the soundtrack entirely and nobody would notice.
-This is a rail shooter yet the pacing is slow! cardinal sin!
-The models and animations are jarring to look at.
-The sound design is poor.
-Diminishing graphical returns. The graphics look like polished turds. More polygons doesn't mean better graphics. The original did it better and with less. It's all about aesthetic and style and the remake has none of it.
-BLAND. The lighting and textures suck, everything just blends together. Nothing pops out. I had to lean in just to see what the hell was going on.
-The voice acting is flat, unlike the originals more lively and fierce tone.
-There is no excitement.
-No charm.
-The remake has no soul.

-Beat this POS game in 36 minutes. I'm getting a full refund.

The House of the Dead: Remake is a fun and simple experience, especially if you’re looking for something easy to jump into. Achievements are very easy to obtain, which makes it satisfying to complete.

You can play the entire game using only the mouse, which I really like, perfect for lazy sessions where you just want to chill and shoot.

Overall, a fun remake and worth playing if you enjoy classic arcade shooters.
