Update 15.2: Sabaton Rocks the Seas With Heavy Metal

A new game update strides onstage with epic attitude! And the crowd goes wild, because we've got UI updates, aircraft carrier mechanic changes, new-but-familiar scenarios in the Operation rotation, and—to top it all off—the beginning of a full-fledged collaboration with heavy metal band Sabaton!

New Italian Cruiser in the 15.2 Event Pass!

Update 15.2's Event Pass progression lines pay homage to the 1941 Battle of Cape Matapan fought between the British and Italian fleets in the Mediterranean theater.

Advance through the first progression line to find British-themed rewards like the Union Jack permanent camouflage, Force of Liberation permanent camouflage for Jervis, and brand-new Ember Core permanent camouflage for Tier VII ships.

The second progression is filled with Italian Navy content, including Regia Marina permanent camouflages, Commander Domenico Folgore with 10 skill points, the Legion permanent camouflage for Vittorio Veneto, and brand-new Premium heavy cruiser Fiume!

Today I got punished for quitting battle early. WTF?

Few days ago I was playing with a friend and internet disruption caused me to d/c. Bit frustrating as I waited a while to play, then had to wait on my friend to finish the mission. I don't have a lot of time to play, so frustrating. Today I log in and I get a message that I'm in time out, and can't earn badges, because I left a battle early. This is after I purchased a weekend pass... that I didn't use. Adding insult to injury. I'm not giving this game another dime and already uninstalled. I know nobo...

Sabaton Collaboration

Mark Friday the 13th—true metal legends are sailing in with epic style!

Full collaboration with Sabaton featuring themed content and collectibles!
Nationless Commander Joakim Brodén with an individual voiceover.
Special livestream with a guest from the band, mystery drops, and an exclusive giveaway.

Operations Return Permanently

Three fan-favorite Operations are joining the standard roster for good!

Arctic Convoy, Tokyo Express, and Pacific Offensive return from the "In the Name of Tomorrow" event.
Tier VI–X ships and Superships allowed; nation restrictions removed.
Submarines can now participate with standard Operations buffs.
Two randomized secondary tasks per battle.
Divisions of up to 7 players supported.

Event Pass: Battle of Cape Matapan

Commemorating the 85th anniversary of the historic Mediterranean clash.

Dedicated to the Battle of Cape Matapan, which unfolded between the British and Italian fleets.
First progression line: Union Jack permanent camouflage, "Resolute and Rapid" container, Force of Liberation camouflage for Jervis, and the glowing Ember Core permanent camouflage for Tier VII ships as the final reward.
Second progression line (3,000 Doubloons): Blue Explosion destruction effect, 2x Regia Marina permanent camouflages, Tier VII Premium cruiser Fiume, Commander Domenico Folgore (10 skill points), and Legion camouflage for Vittorio Veneto as the final reward.
Extra levels reward 1x More Signals container (first line) and 1x Rare Bonuses container (second line).

Aircraft Carrier Mechanics Update

Incremental improvements to carrier gameplay.

Patrol Fighters Rework:
- Dispatch Patrol Fighters to a selected area via the Tactical Map while controlling aircraft.
- Defend allies or your carrier without redirecting your squadron.
- Arrival time can depend on distance; range limitations apply.
New Consumable – Evasive Maneuvers:
- Replaces Repair consumable for aircraft.
- Temporarily reduces damage from AA and Fighters.
- Does not restore HP; timing is crucial.
- Activation clearly visible via AA UI and squadron animations.
Manual Control Options:
- Fighters and Damage Control Party consumables can now be toggled between automatic and manual modes during battle.

User Interface Customization

More tools to sharpen your combat awareness.

Increased Detectability Timer shows how long visibility remains elevated after firing main guns.
Time to Victory Indicator predicts which team will win based on current scoring rate in Key Area modes.
Both indicators can be toggled on or off.
Expanded HUD and camera customization options in Settings.
Additional crosshair indicators and damage-type counters available.

Map Updates

Improved flow and expanded battle options.

Okinawa map rebalanced with island repositioning and spawn points moved closer to the center.
Increased maneuvering space and faster engagement opportunities.
Sunset Isles is now available in Ranked, Clan Battles, and Brawls.
Brawls feature adjusted ship parameters for added variety.

Clan Battles: Season 33 – Blue Marlin

A brand-new season of Clan Battles is on the horizon, shaking things up with Tier VIII ships!

Season 33, codenamed "Blue Marlin," features a 7v7 format with Tier VIII ships only.
Ship Restrictions:
- Only battleships, cruisers, and destroyers allowed.
- Maximum of one battleship per team.
Battle Days: Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday.

So much time wasted in warthunder

Tried this game for the first first time yesterday, and just have to say, I can't believe how much I was missing. after playing only warthunder and hating the instant deaths, slow matches, and unbalanced fights. I tried this and didn't realize how good it was. There's actually a reason to play smaller weaker ships, every ship class plays completely differently and can combat all other ships in different ways. Just had to get this off my chest...

You get hardly anything for winning compared to what everything costs to research and buy. Some how WarThunder does a better job.... that hurts to say cause dear me the snail is bad but this is even worse. Not even an enjoyable grind, you hardly make any progress. For those of us with jobs this is a total waste of time....

World of Warships looks great and feels good for about… five minutes.

Then you realize the gameplay loop is extremely basic. Sail forward, shoot, repeat. There’s only so much excitement you can squeeze out of that before it starts feeling like you’re on autopilot.

And just when you think about sticking with it, the microtransactions show up to remind you there are better ways to spend your time.

There are much better naval games out there that don’t try to nickel-and-dime you. I’d recommend playing one of those instead.

The game in its current state is just very frustrating to play with questionable balancing. Well, at least in PvP. I recently made the decision to almost exclusively play Operations (one of the PvE modes) and this is the most fun and relaxed I've felt playing this game for a while. "Getting good" in this game requires a huge amount of time and effort, and most people just aren't able to overcome that learning curve. You can still have good time even if you're not that skilled, but only if you embrace the "fun" part of seeing big metal boats blowing each other up, and sometimes that includes putting aside the competitiveness in you and stepping away from the PvP altogether.

In short, just try to have fun with the game in your own way, don't stress yourself too much over getting good and you'll have a great time.
