EARLY ACCESS MAINTENANCE NOTIFICATION

Hello Spellcasters,

Starting at 3:30pm CET, we'll be rolling out a maintenance update focused on improving overall stability and resolving several reported issues.

Fixes included:

Fixed an issue where the voice chat could activate when a lifestone was destroyed.
Resolved various inconsistencies within the Knowledge system to ensure more coherent and reliable behavior.
Fixed multiple crashes and desynchronization issues to improve overall stability.

URGENT: Optimization needed before the player base leaves

If you truly want this game to succeed, you need to fix the performance immediately. Most players don't own high-end NASA computers. Even on my high-end rig, I get 120 FPS but my PC is literally overheating. This is a massive red flag. You are hurting your own potential because people with average hardware simply can't play. Please prioritize optimization. If players leave now because of technical issues, they won’t come back. Don’t let poor performance kill a great game!...

Spellcasters Chronicles is in Early Access on Steam NOW! This means the game is available 24/7 with no need to request access – just jump on in!

Why Early Access?

After two incredibly insightful Closed Beta where we were able to gather your feedback, we are now thrilled that the game is now free to access. Our goal with this Early Access is to include you even more in our development process as your feedback will help us deliver the best possible version of the game for you to play.

What's coming with this new update?

7 new powerful spells and creatures to reinforce your decks. And with that, we are adding much awaited quality of life improvements with a rework to the upgrade system and ranked mode and the introduction of spell unlock.

Throughout early access we will also update the game on a regular basis to add new content and adjust the balancing.

What's the difference with the full game?

We expect the full version of Spellcasters Chronicles to deliver a more complete and polished feature set, a deeper roster of Spellcasters, and more game modes and content than what’s available in Early Access. In the meantime, Early Access offers a broad look at what the full game will become and we plan to roll out multiple updates that introduce new content and gameplay features. Early Access Review

Performance is better since the playtest(s), but only so much.
Can't play this above 60fps without being on Low + FSR4 Ultra Performance on a RX 9070 with 32GB RAM and an i7, and stutters every so often too.
Other than that, lots of fun, great concept, leaving a positive review in hopes of positive developments.

Early Access Review

As a day one supporter of this game and a player of both betas, this game is not steering in the correct direction. PR for this game was phenomenal. The GMs offered multiple ways to report our feedback and insured that our cries weren't in vain. They promised us day one players that our feedback was sent to the devs and was going to be applied before the release of the game. The game is now out on steam and it's relatively unchanged since the first beta. The same memory leaks still exist, the same bugs still exist, the same cries are still going unheard. Since the first beta:

Pros:
- More units/spells have been added.
- No longer requires a 16 core cpu to launch.
- They made the visual clutter on the flamethrower spell a bit smaller!

Cons:
- No keybind changes.
- Terrible defaults still exist (e.g. single tapping space will cause you to stop flying and hit the ground. why is the go up button tied to going down?)
- Performance is still terrible
- The menus are awful and empty. Loading screens are blurry and 720p.
- No way to rejoin games after FREQUENT disconnects.
- Melee hitboxes are still clunky and feel awful.
- Certain spellcaster passives still do nothing.
- The deck building size hasn't been increased, which was a major pain point for many players.
- For a MOBA/RTS, the game is extremely boring. You can and will often spend your time sitting afk as the chests are quickly used and your population quickly runs out. There is no macro. This comes from a DOTA, Beyond All Reason, Deadlock player.

All in all, the only change I've seen since loading up the Alpha is the addition of a slightly longer tutorial, the 4 new spells added since CB2, and the addition of the storefront. Who would've guessed their top priority was adding a storefront...

Wait a few months for this game to get updated. If they still don't take our advice, I'd drop the game entirely.

Fun game but runs pretty bad :c hope they will make it run better, but I see the vision

edit: It is f2p, see if it runs for you in a playable state and try it yourself before you listen to the toxic and unintelligent filth around here, people who cannot communicate their opinion on a human level do not deserve to be heard anyway.
