As promised, here's your first 2026 present: A new challenge!

January Challenge: Tall Tower

🗼 All rooms are stacked to form a 12-stories tower.

📌 You start on the bottom, with the push pins, and the exit is on the top of the tower.

🗝️ There are 5 locks, but 7 keys are hidden in the tower, so you won't need to open as many checks as usual.

🎉 Party Apartment - Most of the mice are in a small 1-stage apartment of 4-5 rooms.

🪙 Cash Castle - Presents and quests only give coins. All the useful items are in Gacha Machines.

👻 Ghostly Gathering - All presents & NPCs are invisible, and of course they're shuffled.

I'd like to organize some races on the Tall Tower and Full House challenges. If you're interested, it'll be organized in the Discord as well.

Alongside that, the 5.1.3 version brings some new things :

2026 monthly challenge page added.
RoomAccessPriority setting implemented, to make the generation algorithm prioritize items which will open new rooms.
Generation algorithm will also be incentivized to use more useful items in the beginning to prevent failed generations.
Paintings for the campaign days are the same as their corresponding challenge.
Shady Shelter gold medal is set to 27' instead of 25'.
Dining buffet lower glass can be destroyed without exploding the small jar at its foot.
Player can drop down from the potty chair and cat bed.
Player can't open the map in space tutorials.
Check counter on the map hidden during laboratory sequences.
Piercing rocket tutorial improved.
Kimo asks the player to join the Discord at the end of the campaign and says that the first bonus challenges are easier than Day 10.
The time it takes for the item icon to reach the item popup paper is constant.
Seed added in campaign result window.
Fixed some missing logic.

And I fixed some bugs:

Polo won't continuously talk to the player when they're standing inside the curtain without a Gourmet Medallion.
Suri's bubble size will be consistent with other NPC's when playing on a modified game scale.
Infinity sign is displayed correctly in the settings

Bonjour, Bravo et merci pour le jeu, c'est un régal ! J'adore et ne fais que le recommander. [FR] Il me semble être bloqué au Jour 9 - Domicile Désordonné. J'ai demandé un indice, qui indique un point du jeu (avion) que je ne peux pas atteindre avec les compétences données. Hi all! I'm stumped. The little kid wants a nightlight. The hint lady said this is available to me, so that makes me think it is something I can do, not something I give him (or the prompt would show up). Any hints on what he wants from me?

Help finding a chest

There's a chest that I think is supposed to be in the pipe under the bathtub for Day 7, but no matter where I throw the dynamite (all along the pipe, at the entrances, after restarting my computer as well), I can't find it!

bug: controller won't reconnect

I'm using an Xbox wireless controller with Steam Input enabled. If my controller turns off during the game (either manually or because of its idle timeout), when I turn it back on, Randomice will not see the controller. Pressing the buttons or sticks does nothing until I completely quit the program and launch it again. Other than this bug, I'm having a great time!...

5.1.1 Update + January challenge vote!

In January 2026, I'm going to release the first Monthly Challenge. And I'm counting on you to vote for what this challenge will be! You've got a few options:

Tall Tower - All rooms are stacked to form a big tower. You start with the Charged Pins.
Portal Palace II - Portals are uncoupled, going back the way you came won't lead to the same room.
Party Apartment - All the mice are in a small 1-stage apartment (Toilet-Bathroom-Kitchen-Living)

Aside from that, version 5.1.1 is out!

Some improvements:

Which item to reheat can be selected with the mouse.
Medal times are easier to achieve.

And a lot of fixes:

Polo was invisible in the Stairs bottom right corner.
Logic fixed when Polo was guarding the Toilet's upper right hole.
Some seeds of Day 7 (Pirate Paradise during the campaign) could get the player soft-locked.
Vyna will not point at Miko on day 10 before a certain other event happens.
Fixed some dialogs.
Can't be stuck in the truck while grappling.
It's easier to grapple to the top of the electrical panel in the Workshop.
Game lagged a bit when trying to drop down on a solid platform while using the blowtorch.
Game lagged a bit when burning the dust in the workshop pipe, then leaving.
Fixed a crash when loading the game for the first time on version 5.1.0.2.
Fixed a soft-locked when receiving the kitsch print from the printer at the same time as Homa's password present.
Glyphs won't change while in the pause menu when using the trackpad on the Steam Deck.

Fixed a crash that happens sometimes when a controller is unplugged.
Fixed a rare issue when exiting a room at the same time as a conversation starts.
Fixed a crash when trying to load languages.
Fixed an issue on old computers while trying to store the campaign save at the end of the campaign.
Polo correctly reprimands the player when he enters from the back.
Basement bottle present can't be opened by breaking only the left bottle.
The challenges are correctly unlocked at the end of the campaign.
Chinese language is correctly rendered in white in the end credits.
It's possible to drop down from Vyna's box.
Can use the rocket to leave the litter box.
Min grapple length to shoot halved.
