Backrooms Ultrakill Roguelike on LSD, delivered direct to your veins. Imagine Ultrakill and Risk of Rain 2 hooking up and birthing an ADHD child that lives in the backrooms and survives purely on drugs. Chaotic, completely unhinged, and easily recommended.


🟩 Pros:

+ Oozes style and charm
+ Addictive ‘one more run’ loop
+ Fast, fluid, and frantic gameplay – It’s chaos!
+ Run, jump, and parkour your way to success
+ Many, many variants, thanks to the procedural generation
+ The most unique take on the backrooms concept I’ve ever experienced
+ An arcade where you get to play the games to unlock new items? Count me in!
+ Similar to Risk of Rain 2, Serious Sam, Ultrakill, and many other games I’ve loved
+ The soundtrack absolutely bangs (you can add your own music too!) and impacts runs
+ The time mechanic is a great way force aggression and add urgency without overwhelming players
+ The soul and time mechanics are unique and well thought-out additions, balancing aggression and resource management perfectly

🟥 Cons:

- Readability can get hard at times
- A lack of enemy designs may deter some
- The soul mechanic will make you feel pressured to get kills while the time mechanic will make you feel rushed; this isn’t a negative for me, as the game is built around them, but if you aren’t a fan of these you’ll likely dislike the game

A world inspired by the backrooms, playing like an LSD trip arena shooter with roguelike elements - Oddcore is an easy recommendation! Runs are simple - Spawn in, purge enemies (or complete other objectives), collect souls, and spend them on gadgets, healing, or extending your run (capped at 5 minutes). Die, and you’re sent back to the hub to spend tokens on arcade games to unlock new gadgets, weapons, or skins.

It’s a fast, frantic roller coaster ride of pure chaos, and it kicked off my 2026 gaming with a bang! For the price, you’re getting an addictive, highly replayable experience that’s easy to jump in and out of. Give it a try, you’ll know well within Steam’s two hour refund window whether it’s for you.

No idea what I just played but I need it injected straight into my veins.

This game is great.

Can't recommend it yet. Scales or balance should be reworked.

I liked the difficulty In the demo, it was harder and felt like you have to unlock stuff to progress. In the release version I could hit up to 50 level just on the second run.
Also soul bullets are easy to get and store now, there's no need to manage them.
One run takes too much time with such difficulty, you get bored easily.
Items are just free buffs with no depth, so there’s no real "build" variety — you just pick up everything without thinking. (except Watcher)
Runs, Items, maps, shops don't feel special anymore, you mindlessly pick stuff, run and gun.

The soundtrack is too limited from start, which gets repetitive fast. (I know you supposed to find more). Maybe would be better to add boss music idk.
I also wish I could use alternative fire while shooting or reloading to make the combat feel smoother.
