How do I get Rubert to replace Swann in the evening? Is there a trigger that I've missed? I would like to interrogate him. I'm wondering if I need to make another new save.

I just beat the game with 9/10 scenes solved, and I have questions about some small things I didn't figure out or items I didn't find a use for. I'm going to start a second game to try for 100% and would appreciate some hints. Starting with the unsolved scene: 1. It was the engraving translations, which did not get marked as solvable. I'm in the Grey Sanctuary and have no clue what to do. I can interact with the door (no result), look at the loose bar and at the gruel. The spoon in the gruel looks promising, but I cannot interact with it or pick it up. Thanks to a previous thread I realized I could open the inventory using I, but its empty. What am I missing???...
