I thoroughly enjoyed the original Mech Builder 2D and stand by my comments regarding the generative AI usage in the DLC of that game. Gen AI is inevitable and sucks the developer used it in the game.

That being said, they have come out and stated there is no generative AI in this game. The awesome part of it being 3D instead of 2D is that the fun of building Gunpla without the price tag is amplified by the 3D aspect and the ability to not only kitbash, but pose your models however you'd like, even to absurd degrees. I look forward to diving more into the game and building more kits but the short time I have played up until now has been a great time and made me yearn to build Gunpla again.

Not really a simulator but more of a relaxing sandbox, letting you make some cool robots without the muss and fuss of real-life cleanup and backlog pains.
The game allows you to snip parts, assemble, paint, decal and kitbash to a limited degree. I would've liked to see sanding, more precise snipping mechanics (currently you can snip anywhere near the runner connection and get a perfect cut), and stickers, but the current gameplay loop is still satisfying and relatively accurate to real-world model building.
Every model is detailed and flaired with charming references to real-world designs. There's a good variety as well, ranging from super robots to conventional military designs and even some mecha girls. In the future, some more western-style mecha would be fun, though this is probably difficult to implement with kitbashing.
Overall, the game is fun, especially for the modest asking price and file size.
