There's a lot of love poured into this game and has gone through many iterations to be here. It's well worth £5.

I wish the UI had a bit more love. The grey boxes are a bit boring.

Played a bunch of this on Itch. One of the most interesting incremental games imo. Very fun ways of handling the timeloop aspect

Terraformental is one of the greatest "idle-lite" games I have ever played. It's so unlike every other incremental game out there in the best way. It's essentially a resource management exploration RPG, with actions taking (a relatively small amount of) real-life time to complete. You play as an astronaut stranded in a time loop on a desloate half-terraformed planet, and must explore to find food, water, and air to survive while slowly optimizing runs and uncovering useful information.

What makes it so unique is that the game avoids so many immersion-breaking idle game cliches at the same time.

There's no incomprehensibly large numbers. No exponentially increasing resource consumption. No obligatory combat mechanic. No prestige resources and shop. No billion different stats and prestige types.

Instead, the game offers a great story that's supported by immersive and tight game mechanics. A text log and an in-game PDA describe nearly every task you do and place you explore in great detail. Doing actions makes them go by faster, to a point, which is again acknowledged by the game. You'll get messages about how you're developing a routine for looting a given facility more efficiently, or skipping safety checks on parts you found were safe on previous loops.

As the game says in the description, this is an incremental game that encourages knowledge over brute force. Taking time for the protagonist to memorize lock codes, find certain shortcuts, and other rewards of a more secret nature pay off in a very discrete way, letting you bypass obstacles or generate certain limited resources that make further exploration easier. It's very much like Outer Wilds in that regard, with knowledge being the main reward (and assistant) for most challenges.

Specific actions are intuitive and straightforward. Choosing which items to take with you and which to leave behind (espeically when doing so saves precious time) and route planning in general rewards good planning, but ultimately most challenges can be brute-forced or avoided initially. The game is pretty good at hinting if there's a better option that you just haven't found yet.

This is a great story and exploration focused incremental-lite, and I seriously recommend it.
