Patch Notes – D3V.BR34K3R Demo Update

New! – D3V.BR34K3R Star
A new star has been added to all stages: the D3V.BR34K3R star. Earn it by beating my personal high score on a stage. It’s tough, but if you get it, you can officially say you’re better than the game’s creator.

New! – Secret Tasks
Secret Tasks have been added to Stages 3 and 6. Complete them to earn bonus points and unlock a secret message on the score screen.

New! - Stage 10 Update
You should replay the boss fight (Stage 10). That’s all I’ll say.

Stages 1–10

Reduced the requirements for Stars 1 through 5
Slightly reduced the requirements for the Overlord Star

Stage 6 – Clocks

Increased final bonus time tolerance
Increased bonus points for faster completion times

Help Button

The Help button during the tutorials has been reworked. Most of you probably didn’t even realize it existed and that it had extra info for each task. You might want to check it out now. There’s some good stuff in there.

Scalable Resolution
The game now correctly scales to your screen resolution (including ultrawide). Let me know if you encounter any visual issues.

Stage 2
Added a new advanced tutorial step explaining that you can freely move the cursor while holding the Power Press button.

Stage 3

Updated the Bubble Burst video tutorial

Upcoming demo changes!

Hey everyone!

Thank you for playing the Neuron Activation demo. After gathering some feedback, I’m working on a few changes and additions that I believe will improve the overall demo experience.

COMING SOON:

Stars & RankingsFirst of all, I’m reviewing the star requirements for each stage.
Stars 1-5 will be easier to obtain, and the red stars (Overlord ranking) will also be slightly easier, while still keeping them challenging.

There will also be a new star tier for those who truly want to master the game.
(More info on that in a later post.)

Secret Stage Tasks
Secret tasks will be added to a couple of stages, keep your eyes peeled!
If you manage to complete them during your run, you’ll be able to read a secret message in the final score screen and earn some extra points as well.

Leveling System
Number going up = Neuron Activation.
I’ll be adding the leveling system to the demo. In the full game, it will unlock some cool stuff, but in the demo, you’ll mainly see your level going up... bragging rights still count, though.

Stage 6 - Clocks
The final stage time bonuses will be adjusted. They’ll be easier to obtain overall, while still rewarding fast players even more.

Tutorial Improvements
I’ll be making a few tweaks to ensure new players understand more advanced techniques that can significantly boost their score in the long run.

Bug Fixes & Translation Corrections
bugs and translation errors will also be addressed.

[BUG] Game is completely broken on MacOS

doesn't even launch, crashes before launching. I've tried reinstalling multiple times. Info: - M1 Apple silicon Mac - Crash report says something related to some electron framework

Black screen?

Tried the demo. After selecting language, there is a weird scratchy sound effect, then screen goes full black. Eventually I heard other sounds while moving the mouse around, as if the game was running but I just couldn't see anything. After alt tabbing, there appeared a tiny frowny face in the upper left corner, but aside from that it's still just a black screen but I can hear audio. Known issue / any fix?...

Crazy input lag.

I'm not sure why, but the cursor the game draws seems to be really lacking behind. Is this intended behavior?

[Bug] Incorrect launcher for Linux

The demo version currently points to the wrong executable still on linux side, attempting to launch the non-existing windows executable. This will need to be fixed to instead point to the appimage. Running the appimage by browsing the game install directory and launching it there seems to run fine however....
