Here’s a hotfix for a stocking-full of issues introduced in Holiday Cryosphere.

Please remove your mods before updating as they may cause crashes. If you are experiencing crashes or other issues and have any third-party mods installed (such as those found at NexusMods), please try uninstalling the mods before attempting to run the game again.
You may want to completely clear your files and reinstall the game, as there’s been cases where an uninstalled mod still leaves some sneaky files behind.

Please update your game and servers when you get a moment away from scientific study. If you’re on Steam and don't receive an update, verify your game files. Below you can see a list of all the various versions numbers, depending on your platform.

• Fixed travelling to IS-0188 sometimes not working if a scientist had packaged and deployed IS-0105 elsewhere.
  
• The sliding attack sound effect of a certain chilly foe should no longer get stuck looping.
  
• Removed Fortitude XP gain from high velocity impacts with steam-powered locomotives.
  
• Fixed some cases where the Steam Deck on-screen keyboard would cause a crash.
  
• The Warming Drawer now correctly heats up cold items if the Sandbox Option Refrigeration Effectiveness is set to non-standard values. You can melt your ice cream again.
  
• Fixed the Plutonic Carapace being unable to be placed on The Wishing Shelf.
  
• Removed scientist collision with IS-0105 which would cause scientists to sometimes get stuck when returning to Cascade.

If something you wanted fixed was not on here, fret not. We are looking into lots of issues, lots of reports, and plenty of opinions, too! We will be digging carefully and fixing things that we deem most critical, and then working our way through some other less critical issues. Criticality is determined by the number of people experiencing an issue, the impact it has on gameplay (e.g. visual bugs get much lower priority), and things that disrupt the fun in a harmful way. Thanks for reaching out to us with issues (and opinions!)

Come, gather round the fire and put some coffee in that coffee hole. Let’s get cozy as we wander into the magical world of Abiotic Factor’s winter update!

Firstly, the shortest ever vlog from Zag and Criss, who barely even talk about the update. Mainly wishing you a warm holiday. You don’t actually click on these vlogs to hear about the game, do you?

Step into this magical world and onto the train platform (DO NOT STEP OFF THE TRAIN PLATFORM) and into this snowy world and uncover the story behind these new Immurement Subjects. … And snag some furniture while you’re at it.

To begin this journey, you’ll need to wander around the Dirac Containment Wing in Cascade Laboratories, after you have finished the Helmholtz segment. We suspect you will figure it out from there. We’re not that good at keeping secrets.

There is also a new unlockable character head, but you’ll have to work for it.

Also, you have our permission to take out some holiday stress on your fellow scientists via a friendly snowball fight. And that’s about it, there’s definitely nothing else to find or discover in this place.

Once you’ve finished the new Portal World, you may find yourself with access to a new, cozy Home World. This frosty mountain cabin is really quite cozy, and available to all! Happy Holidays.

Is it actually a carrot? Where do you get it? These are all great questions. You’re a scientist. You’re an explorer! You can figure it out. (Hint: It’s probably related to the new cryosphere stuff.)

That’s right, the days of lugging around a barrel of soup in your fanny pack are over! We’ve added a bunch of new buffs for many of the baked foods, making them a lot more worthwhile. This is mostly centered on baked food that requires effort to create, so your pumpkin slices are still just pumpkin slices. … Or at least we hope they are. Oh god, has anyone checked on the pumpkin slices!?

There are some new hats you can find, all themed around this whole rigamaroll.

There’s a handful of new deployable items, ranging from furniture to tiny toys, and everyone’s favorite holiday tradition - the Arrival Bell! As you all know, these are lovely bells that sound off when a visitor arrives at your base! Hopefully this will keep Marion from–WHAT DO YOU SEEK?

Oh, and wall-mounted item stands are now an option for home decoration. There’s also a few more goodies, but shhhh, shhh-shh shhh, quiet. Get on out of here as we tussle your hair and call you sport. You won’t get your Wishing Shelf gifts if you don’t go to bed.
